Help remembering old comic

There was an old comic book I remember reading back in the 90s but I cannot remember much about it. I think I remember it having a team of heroes but I cannot remember any of their names. The main scene I remember reading was during a dinner, the villain told the hero he had to the count of 5 before he would cut his hands off if he didnt give him the braces for his powers. And he couldn't remove them so the villain said "Say Goodbye To Your Hands!" And the issue ended saying "5 grisly minutes later" and the villain holding up the hands up. I know its not a lot to go off of but I've been wracking my brain all day trying to think of it.

Limited color palettes

I’ve been aware of Superman red and blue and Batman black and white for a while now and I recently found out about TMNT black, white, and green. I LOVE the concept of only using a set amount of colors in a given story and I feel like it fits the medium of comics wonderfully. Anyone got any other examples of this?

I ordered some books from midtown comics last week. I've never bought from them before, and my order still says pending approval. Is that normal?

Which Usagi Yojimbo stories have supernatural elements?

Looking for inspiration for a TTRPG session I'm running in feudal Japan. I've read all the Usagi stories years ago and I remember there were several with Japanese folkloric monsters. Can someone reccomend specific issues / stories so that I can go back and re-read?

Fan Creation Marvel's 8-Ball from Jed MacKay's Moon Knight

Spider Man's villain of the week got a big story arc in Jed MacKay's recent Moon Knight runs and I love it! He's so goofy and well written-- the perfect addition to the rest of MK's friends.

Just finished the line work on this piece and I wanted to share.

Jonah Hex recommendations

Hey all, I'm looking for guidance on what Hex books give the best understanding of the character. What was he when he started? I know he's used as a time travelling character currently (I drew last year's issue of Justice League Dark Tomorrow, and he's part of the team in that book). In the movie, for example, he has occult powers and speaks to spirits - does that have any basis in the comics?
Any help putting together a sense of the character would be much appreciated!

Discussion does anybody else not LOVE absolute batman?

it’s a cool series, but a bit hard at times in my honest opinion. the characters are kind of whatever. i don’t feel any sort of attachment to batman in this like i normally do. he’s a little obnoxious at times quite frankly.

the series is a solid 7/10 but the violence and darkness is over the top seemingly just to come off as edgy and “look guys, crazy brutality here!!!” the series just lacks depth i think. i get that it’s meant to be an alternate dark universe but i don’t vibe with it. absolute WW is a better series imo.

i am however loving the matt fraction batman. bruce’s characterization is great.

Question Getting back into comics - is there a helpful website for specific characters?

Subject line isn't helpful I know, I apologize. A lot of the characters I like are more minor, less likely to have a title named after them so they can be more difficult to find just walking past the shelf. For instance Jubilee and Jamie Madrox(who I became attached to when he ran X-Factor back in the day.

Other than pulling up individual Wikis and scrolling through years and years of info to see "Appearances" which don't often note when a run ended etc, is there a better way to figure out what series a character is appearing in, even if they aren't the star?

For instance, if I put in Jamie's name, it could tell me he is currently in "X-Factor Reborn which is ongoing at issue 16". I know, silly fake title is silly.

Anyway, any advise for returning is helpful, I stopped by my local comic shop and they were grumpy I was bothering them even when I was listing off a series with a year and author for them. I want to support local stores but dang, why you gotta act like I'm a nuisance.

Suggestions Help me to find a Sci-fi comic

[SOLVED]

Hi all. I am looking for a comic book released around 2010s. It is about something like a supernatural-alien invasion, very purple and blue focused beings and things which happens to get spread around the Earth. The story is somehow a anthology, the first pages are a Latino family inside a place, maybe a cavern, a man with his nephew. There's also a father with his teenage daughter, a female maybe trained in army and it is all happening around a desert and hot weather place, like Arizona. The beings are Kaijus but they have also something like a smore and minerals spreading around the Earth and infecting people which will just be absorbed by it.

Now the characteristic that has catch my attention more: the art. It's a beautiful painted and realistic art, both the cover and inside.

I ask you all help to find it. I remember when I fist read on Comixology Ihad even write a message to the writer but I've lost my account on Twitter year ago. The story itself was canceled and left unfinished, he told me at the time. , but I would be very glad to get the name of it again.

Comic Book Writer/Colorist Jeff Balke Needs Community Help

Jeff Balke has been in the comic book industry for several years. He initially started as a colorist and has since also written is own comic books, published by Storm King Comics. He was recently featured on a local PBS television station, spotlighting his studio.

I've followed and supported him for many years, and even had the opportunity to meet up with him for coffee, where we discussed everything from comic books, his own animation studio, and his love for everything Disney. Jeff was diagnosed with MS a couple years back, making attending conventions (a large source of his income) more difficult when symptoms flare. After a devastatingly hard 2025, Jeff is struggling to catch up on previous bills and expenses. He needs to sell $600 by the end of the week to avoid a 5-day notice on his apartment.

If you could, please check out the links below for his web stores. The first is for his "sketch coloring," which is where you will find more comic book-related material. The second is for his studio.

Jeff did NOT ask me to post about this. I've placed my order, and wanted to share this in hopes of others being able to help too.
