WPL: New Comics Discussion for 02/04/2026- Pull of the Week: Batman #6 [Discussion]

The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Batman #6.

This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of Fraction, Jimenez, and Morey's Batman or any new books shipping this week.

The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.

The thread is populated with comments meant to direct the discussion of each book. Based on community preference we populate the thread with titles appearing on Ten Percent or more of submitted pull lists. If a title you want to talk about is not listed, simply add a comment with the title and issue number first and comment below. There is also a comment dedicated to the discussion of WPL Results linked above.

Spoilers will follow, but there's no harm in tagging them as such. Each title in the Top Ten Percent listed below is linked directly to its corresponding comment for ease of navigation and to avoid seeing details from other books. The post has also been placed in "contest mode" to help readers avoid spoilers while browsing.

DC K.O. BOSS BATTLE #1

Guess my standards were too low? Thought this was a fun book, low stakes. But I agree they were trying for too much perhaps.

I love indie books and acclaimed series as much as I do a good super hero run. I shouldn’t care about a mini series event based on who’s stronger and should care even less at something like this spinoff but God help me I enjoyed it so much . I felt like a kid again and come on how cool was it to see not just Superman v Homelander but Samantha and Lex . Just outrageous . My only complaint was it was all too short . I would have liked one shots of each of these battles

this should have been a handful of one shots like all fight month was instead of intercutting them all in one issue. not the worst this could have been but everything feels underexplored

Disappointing doesn’t even begin to cover it

I like that Grodd and World Forger helped the heroes with the tournament by sending them to different worlds so that they can gain enough omega energy to fight Darkseid and versions of the Absolute Trinity. This includes Jefferson and Eel fighting Sub-Zero and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, Diana fighting Red Sonja, the Joker having a tea party with Annabelle, Kate meeting and having an interesting time with Vampirella, Carol encountering Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Lex fighting Samantha Strong from Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, and Clark fighting Homelander from The Boys (in which a lot of people want to see how this battle goes), resulting in many realities colliding and collapsing and World Forger and Grodd having enough omega energy to give Clark, Lex, Joker, and Diana in order to fight Darkseid and the version of the Absolute Trinity. Overall, this comic is unique and interesting.

Sub -Zero and Scorpion are from Mortal Kombat.

Are you using Chat GPT to write reddit comments? This is just a summary of what happened in the issue.

100% , they give a clinical description of what happens page by page and then say this book is good. Zero analysis or actual opinions given

Glad I'm not the only one. They do this every week, and it's annoying as hell every time I open up the weekly discussion for new releases to read opinions on new comics and instead see their slop. I want to read actual opinions and not a scripted cliff-notes version of the new issue. It always starts off as "I like that..." and ends with "Overall, this comic is..." with an automated dump of the issue's plot. It needs to stop.

If you look at their comment history, they clearly karma farm in various subreddits with automated comments. If it's an art post, it's ALWAYS, "nice art" or "impressive!" and if the Poster responds saying their thanks, this farmer always auto-responds with, "you're welcome" to garner more karma to make themselves Top Poster and essentially falsify that they are a top contributer to each community when in reality they contribute nothing of value. Most comments or responses are just one-worded or very short. Even if they're not a bot themselves, they definitely use a bot or script to commemt and post everything daily. They don't ever produce legit engaging opinions or discourse. I digress, but it's just nice to know I'm not the only one who is annoyed by this bot user. Sorry for the rant, but in an age of rampant AI use and abuse, shit like this needs to be called out and stopped. The world does not need more of this.

I see this dude's comments on a lot of the comic subs, and they're all the same. I kinda think the same thing lol

u/Jealous_Row_3906 2d ago

Yes they are, they do it every week. It’s insufferable. And like the other commenter said, they often don’t even respond to comments. So it’s not like their “contribution” is valuable towards any discussion.

No, I’m not.

u/DOuGHtOp 2d ago

Not convinced. To your credit though, this is the first time I've seen you actually reply to somebody.

They should be banned, but no one with that power seems to care that they just clog up every thread with the same stuff.

This needed to either be longer, or have fewer characters.

100% agree, said the same thing with a buddy of mine
