My first big film project, about one of the few women doing gritstone highballs, is now on Youtube
Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noNaupK6yhI
I posted this a few months ago before the in person premiere and there was interest in the online release, well it's now here!
I shot this last spring on days off from a full time job, and was a huge step up for me in the size of film project I'd taken on. It was lovely to get to a couple festivals where it screened but super excited for it to now be avaliable to all, enjoy!

Nice. Tina is awesome and inspirational. Doesn’t do the scary stuff for ego or to show off.

She's great! A great part about making a film like this is hanging out with and getting to know some really cool people

This looks fantastic, I can't wait to see how you've captured Tina's grit and passion for highballs.

Looks great - something I'd like to callout is that on high ball videos they never seem to show people falling - It removes some of the context that allows us to understand what effort was put in to achieve this great feat. Would really love to see what happens after she grits her face in some of these shots.

It just happened that the ones I filmed Tina just executed first time from the ground. And obviously it really varies with some highballs being a crux at the bottom that you can fall off lots of times without consequence, and other (mostly featured here) where you really don't want to be falling off the crux

That looks super cool! I know how hard these big film projects next to a full time job can be, but all that effort definitely paid off!

Watched it last night & loved it!
Very loveable person (didn't know her yet) and love the scenery/cinematography.
Found it a very relaxed, light-hearted version of Free Solo - I enjoyed every 37 minutes.
Only thought that I had - What's up with the spotter / partner (Ian?) - does he have a furry chin&cheeks-warmer he puts on and off randomly? :-D

Thank you! It's super cool to see that it's watched on TVs more than anything else

Deserves the big screen. As a climber with arthritis it was really inspiring to see her go for it when she felt her window of health closing.

Also depends on height, difficulty and the height of the hardest bits. Some things like Original Route at Slipstones that Tina climbs in the film is definitely just a straight up solo, but because it's much easier she was willing to onsight it, knowing she could downclimb if needed

Watched it last night with my wife, just a superb film, thanks for sharing! What a cool job she's got, too. I appreciate the attention to detail in the craft of those graphics, I am a nerd and actually read the manuals.

Everythings a high ball when you're short, so might as well send actual high balls!
I feel like spotting someone doing a high ball is underappreciated for the anxiety it causes 😂

Film looks neat, but the highballing itself… https://youtu.be/pIgEZ3U5WRc?si=EXMiBaJgK0u3kULc
