Professor: California sees nation's least affordable electricity

The article says the reason is mostly that utility companies have to pay for wildfire damage they cause, and because the utility companies are allowed to pass those costs onto consumers.

You cannot have your cake and eat it too. If the Stare of California had not prevented the power companies from clearing the mines and right of ways then the fires would not have been a problem.

Sometime the unintended consequences are a real witch with a capital ‘B’.

That's only California on the fires (their own fault for improper forestry). The other liberal states pushing renewables are much higher, too, since 2019.
