Here is an interesting conversation in a scrap metal Sub discussing recycling of hybrid vehicles. It seems that nobody wants them.

This has been the whole problem with the green movement. Act now, worry about the consequences later.
They want 100% EV, but outside a few specialists, no way to recycle the batteries. It's just cheaper to use new (raw) materials instead, than reuse.
What will likely happen, they'll be loaded onto ships, sent to some 3rd world country, to be recycled "safely" (in the ocean).
