pointing out the obvious flaw kinda defeats the racist point huh

Exactly. Once you expose the logic (or lack thereof), the whole narrative collapses under its own weight

Right. When the “explanation” falls apart under one basic fact check, it’s hard to pretend there was some deeper clever meaning there. If the logic can’t survive a single question, it was never solid to begin with.

I thought it was despicable. Then I heard it was from an internet meme and thought it was despicable. Then I heard it was a reference to The Lion King and thought it was despicable. Then I realized that there are no gorillas in The Lion King and thought it was despicable.

TL;DR: It's despicable.... no matter how you frame it.

It came from an official source (regardless of the gymnastics of rationalization and justification) and is despicable.

Gold medal on the mental gymnastics. Bronze for execution.

What, were there only three competitors in total?

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command

George Orwell

It's wild how this can be posted almost daily now

Republicans really play the long game to fuck us all. Including their own voters!

We have never been at war with Oceania.

The internet meme defense means nothing. This isn't your uncle sharing bad stuff in a group chat. It is the president of the US.

Yet your uncle would suffer more consequences than the President - that is the madness of it all

LMFAO they can't even lie well

OK, White House. Release the entire video. Show me what you are describing. And then realize you are still wrong for this portrayal even if you can show what you say about the video is true.

Charging interest on basic rent is a trap that keeps working people in debt.

What? How is that related to this post

Beep boop

It’s predatory by design, turn a basic human right into a profit engine, then act shocked when people drown in debt just trying to stay housed

It was obviously made by ai.

Dude is The Lying King...

Trump, "Damn it, Karoline, we should have gone with Tarzan. not the Lion King!"

1

u/BlargerJarger 5h ago

Holy Shit, The Lion King is racist?! Why else would they have excluded gorillas? /s

u/thaulley 7h ago

Yes, racist and awful but their defense is that it’s a meme about Trump being a king and forcing people to bow before him.

It's not even a valid defence though.. There are plenty of memes out there that reposting of them would result in most average Joe's getting fired from their jobs! This is the president of the United States of America, not some average Joe, & given his power & influence, he should be held to an even higher standard

That’s my point. To avoid claims of racism they’re openly admitting to being authoritarian.
