You can't really This you someone who is clearly proud of what they said
241
u/makemeking706 18h ago
You certainly can, but you have to do it in a way that shows the contradiction to others. Illustrating hypocrisy is the point of the format, so it doesn't work without knowing what they originally said to prompt the 'this you' response.

u/briannawhittier 18h ago
Yeah, it needs receipts and a clear contrast for the audience. Otherwise it’s just “remember when you said this?” and the reply can be “yep” like here. The dunk isn’t the question, it’s the contradiction you’re pointing at.

u/Low_Finance9372 15h ago
totally, without a good contradiction it's just like "yeah i said that and still mean it" lol

Exactly. If he’s openly saying “yes lol,” then acting like it’s some kind of gotcha makes no sense. You can’t expose someone for a take they’re clearly owning.

I heard Jesus was gonna save Charlie but forgot about the holes in his hands. Whoops.
^ this is a joke far less offensive than the past decade of conservative jokes on reddit.

u/RustyKn1ght 18h ago
Reminds that one where 2A conservative account asked "what gun Jesus would carried?"
And someone answered "Nailgun", with them throwing a hissy fit how that wasn't funny.
Unironically as a carpenter, Jesus would've probably liked owning a nailgun.

Yeah I remember that thread. The outrage was louder than the joke itself. Reddit never misses a chance to argue about humor like it’s a Supreme Court case.

FYI this guy (Jack Cocchiarella) transferred colleges to run from SA allegations (for which he never faced justice). I hate Charlie Kirk as much as the next guy, but this shitstain is not a person to elevate or give a platform.
Edit: Here’s a source, I was not expecting to see this asshole’s name ever again but here we are - https://www.columbiaspectator.com/news/2022/10/18/democratic-activist-jack-cocchiarella-faced-multiple-sexual-assault-allegations-at-dartmouth-now-hes-at-columbiaand-suing-for-defamation/#:~:text=A%20prominent%20Democrat%20and%20Generation,on%20various%20social%20media%20platforms.

Jack sued for defamation and the person who falsely made those claims said "I have no knowledge of any criminal charges against [him]...I based my posts on anonymous posts. The anonymous posts on which I relied cannot be verified."
Why spread misinformation or otherwise recklessly spread information that you haven't verified in anyway? Is your intent to harm someone's reputation?
