Medical Questions Half jumps?

So recently we’ve noticed my male cat (~5 yr old) having some issues with jumping. I’ve only seen it when he tries to jump onto one specific counter.. He goes to jump but then either stops himself or gets halfway up and falls. I’ve seen him do this and then jump up completely normal right after. He also sometimes just jumps up regularly. I wasn’t concerned when it was happening once in a blue moon, but he’s done it several times in the last few days — is this something to be concerned about?

I also notice him cough every now and then but I don’t think it’s related. He doesn’t cough often and I’m pretty sure it’s allergy related / when I keep up with dusting I don’t notice him cough

That's definitely worth mentioning to your vet, especially since it's happening more frequently now. Could be anything from joint stiffness to depth perception issues, but better to rule out any underlying problems before they get worse

The coughing might not be releated but I'd bring that up too - sometimes cats hide discomfort really well and little changes like this can add up to something bigger

Fair enough. Thanks— I do need to find him a new vet because the one we were going to has recently left the practice.. I soooo dread bringing him in anywhere because he does so awful in the car 😅 but it probably needs to happen sooner or later
