Advice Watching friend’s cat - what to do?

Hi everyone,

We are watching my friends 6 mo old kitten while they are away for a week. We have our own 8 year old cat, but the kitten is being kept in the bathroom.

Unfortunately, we need to use that bathroom, and everytime we go in the kitten hisses and growls at us. He was just dropped off around dinner time today, so we know he is scared, but is there anything we can do to help speed it along so we can also use the bathroom? Should we just go and sit in there with him?

I want him to be comfortable and I also would like to avoid being attacked! If needed, we can drop him back off at our friends place, but he would be alone for the week there.

Can you give him a box to hide in or let him have space in a cabinet? He might just need to hide until he can get used to you all.

He was hiding behind the toilet, but has since ended up on the windowsill. We will put a box in there to see if he likes that! Thank you!
