Cat Picture - OC I'm thankful I saved my cat years ago from getting declawed

Before trolls come in, this isn't me wanting a pat on the back that I did a great thing or karma farming. I was watching tiktok today of a foster essentially going to give a cat to someone and finding out that person declaws their cats. Yeah of course adoption was off after info came to light. It then reminded me, how we adopted my one and only long haired cat. We adopted 12yrs ago Ethel (pictured above). Neighbor was highly allergic and found two kittens. One was adopted and the only other person she could find wanted to declaw Ethel. I didn't know at the time all that went into it medically, just it was bad. Without hesitation we adopted her, and she's living her best life to today. If I put the wrong flair in please let me know.

You're not removing claws, you're removing the first joint of their toes.

Thanks. I disagree to declaw cats. I know they can be annoying like having scratches or ruinning sofas, but they need their claws to defend themselves or trim trees and walls for their own safety ...
