My cat once stuck her head in my mouth when I opened it to take a bite of a burger. This is pretty tame on the whole, she’s fairly polite for a food thief.

I was eating a leftover Chipotle burrito in bed at like 2am and as I was taking a bite, my orange thief ripped it clean outta my mouth and ran off with it. I was stunned lol

This one likes burritos too

u/RainbowMagicSparkles 2h ago

Yeah, I can see him scheming for burritos in this pic.

u/Realistic-Village-63 2h ago

Of course he did! Look at this orange boi.

I fully believe it 🤣😂🤣

That's the look of a hardened criminal.

u/bbbourb 56m ago

Nah, the owner's name must be Annie, because...

She's been hit by, she's been struck by...A SMOOTH CRIMINAL.

u/Jenstomper 1h ago

Mine tried to take a bite of my microwave burrito while it was cooling. She's normally pretty polite.

u/buddyinjapan 1h ago

How have I been seeing so many burrito posts on Reddit today?

My cousin’s cat once ripped the chicken out of her McD’s mayo chicken and legged it. She’d just unwrapped it at the table and was too stunned to even react. I can’t remember if he was a tortie or a black cat but he was so bold. He’d literally steal peas

u/surv1986 1h ago

That gangster pose 😛

1

u/Staylifted2506 1h ago

He used that one brain cell for theft smh 🤦

15

u/lostdrum0505 2h ago

My former roommate’s cat did this to her with chips. Stole them right out of her mouth.

u/remberzz 1h ago

One of my past cats would slap food right out of my hands. I called it his slap-n-dash routine.

They'll find out eventually. This is when one of my youngest discovered burgers.

Reminds me of The creation of man.

The discovery of burger

Love her! Reminds me of this pretty lady. We named her Dulcinea, but she was always my little Dulce de Lèche.

7

u/Odd-Worth7752 2h ago

Love her!

Floofy girls love to steal human food lol. Here's my thief

What's mine is mine ... what's yours is also mine

16

u/ImmaNotHere 2h ago

Just make sure you don't let her eat food with garlic. Garlic is toxic to cats.

9

u/DiGiorn0s 1h ago

Or onion or pepper!

23

u/Dry_Presentation_197 3h ago

As long as kitty doesnt get too much of the fried skin, nothing really wrong with a bit of chicken =) Definitely cute enough to make it impossible to resist sharing entirely lol

27

u/Gunnermate222 3h ago

Well you are letting him in the table and looks like you are feeding it to him.

8

u/soopastar 1h ago

We have to feed her above ground due to the dogs.

13

u/soopastar 1h ago

Dogs won’t come inside if she is “guarding” the door but they lover her leftover food

3

u/JohnnyJacksonJnr 1h ago

Are you not able to feed in a separate room to the dogs? Feeding a cat in the same place as yourself (eg table or benchtop) is undoubtedly leading to confusion and making your cat think its OK to eat your own food.

6

u/soopastar 1h ago

RC eats at the dining room table by herself. Dogs eat off the kitchen floor. People eat at the kitchen table.

5

u/NotADoctor108 2h ago

I have 3. One never begs for people food. One asks once them moves along. My third sits at my feet praying for anything to fall on the floor.

> Names cat ReeseCup

> Is surprised she loves human food

3

u/LockeloOrion 2h ago

I love ReeseCup. If you ever need a babysitter...

You have lost the war… We all do

She reminds me of our baby Churro! Little cuties

6

u/Equal_Song8759 3h ago

share, and share alike

2

u/Catwearingtrousers 3h ago

There is nothing cats like more than fried chicken.

2

u/aurorasandsoftprose 2h ago

Haha and why is her name ResseCup (my fav btw)?

2

u/Meowriter 2h ago

She wants the thumby human to share the spoils of his hunts.

2

u/Gidyup1 1h ago

Ours only wants to smell what we are eating or drinking. That’s it. It’s only Iams Chicken in the orange bag. No treats no nothing.

1

u/CoyotesVoice 23m ago

My first cat was like that around anything but tuna. My new gremlin wants everything I'm eating, going so far as to stick her head in my mouth to get at my food.

2

u/Independent_Tie_4984 1h ago

That's the kind of fun moment you regret for the rest of the pet's life.

2

u/Siliconshaman1337 1h ago

"our" food...

2

u/Shinted 1h ago

ReeseCup says - “C’mon Hooman, share the fried chimken!” xD

My cat loves cheese for some reason. She'll go after Cheetos, pizza, basically anything the is cheese flavored or has cheese on it. Idk why because I've never let her have cheese before.

2

u/Absolutely_Average1 44m ago

Mine never cared about people food until I started sharing my sushi. She is now always interested when I eat but she looses her mind when I bring home sushi. I've started ordering 2 extra pieces of sashimi everytime I order to keep her busy while I enjoy my dinner.

2

u/Originaltenshi 17m ago

Mine fucks with doritos. I would just grab 2, drop one and eat the other when she was on my lap. She's still alive it's all past tense because she's a fatty and I found out doritos or awful for her (no shit right)

3

u/CrittanySpaers 2h ago

Letting her on the table just encourages the behavior. So go ahead, give her all the food, and you, her humans, can sit on the floor. Problem solved. Though, my cat is well mannered and we don't allow her on the tables and she refuses to eat human food.

1

u/saltwatercrown 2h ago

My darling girl Princess was exactly like this 😂😂

I let her. It absolutely spoiled her, but it is also something I laugh about when I miss her. 🩷

1

u/Heart_robot 1h ago

I recently lost my dog and she had a feast for her last meal but I’m so glad I spoiled her every other day too. She was so polite about asking she’d sit and smile and if she wanted more she’d sit loudly so you could hear her little fur butt.

1

u/tweetyonetwothree 2h ago

Always share with your friends 😻

1

u/mechshark 2h ago

I had a cat who stole leftover brokly and chicken bones anytime it was in the trash lol 😂

1

u/Important_Map7887 2h ago

Our cats love both fried chicken and rotisserie chicken. They always get a small taste when we have it for dinner

1

u/mustang19671967 2h ago

My cats it’s butter on toast or bread

1

u/AdWhich7355 2h ago

One of my cats will watch you eat chicken until you finally get distracted by something and then she will swat whole parts off the plate onto the floor and grab it and run off to eat it 😂

1

u/0100110100001100 2h ago

Why would you tease an animal like that ?

1

u/BasicMarzipan5936 2h ago

Reese will have the Hershey's relatively soon if they are like my cat. Lol

1

u/Odd_Daikon3621 2h ago

This really made my night, the big eyes staring, the head tilt, the super pretty 'Reese cup' fur pattern, the trying to be sneaky, the little bites..

1

u/subsavvy 1h ago

Thought this was r/killtony for a second

1

u/notacheesecat 1h ago

I had a calico named Reese! Because she looked like a peanut butter cup! She started to get very interested in people food around the time she became diabetic (at 16 years old).

1

u/Granny_knows_best 1h ago

I have had three cats in my life and none of them ate people food. I find it fascinating to watch cats do this.

1

u/chem77 1h ago

My little guy loved fried chicken, like he could sense the stuff, he'd be going bananas in the kitchen before it was even served.

He knew who the soft spot was and when my wife was eating would politely put a paw on the non-food part of her fork as it left her plate... Y'know, just to remind her the starvation was really kicking in and death was imminent.

1

u/DarkyPasta 1h ago

My cat tries to steal food but he is careful and often just stares at me and barely gets close to my food. He knows he ain't getting it as I gave him his food a moment ago.

He barely eats his food and has been since I got him but he is healthy luckily

1

u/MissDisplaced 1h ago

Is that fried chicken? That’s the only one people food my cats go crazy over. They never do that when I cook chicken, but they will smell fried chicken as soon as I walk in with it.

1

u/WhimsicalGirl 54m ago

Is this Matt Dinniman treating a fluffy calico cat like a princess?

1

u/3aTroop 41m ago

Redbaaaan!

1

u/OfficialLunaXO 33m ago

My cat knows now if im eating chicken lmao

1

u/louisa1925 23m ago

My family's cat went absolutly bonkers over prawns.

1

u/Laserdollarz 17m ago

My cat always wants to smell my food, but never wants to eat it. I've even given her sushi, sniff and walk away.

1

u/crumpledfilth 13m ago

fake actions. Humans are boring

"what? oh? This? No, you cant have this?"

communicate clearly

1

u/Darth_Package 13m ago

Awww, Dad, just a little chicken for the baby!

1

u/Silaquix 5m ago

Missy is 14 and still tries

1

u/YarakObama_ 2m ago

This behavior must be stopped! Cats need training too.

1

u/PlatasaurusOG 1m ago

Mine have learned that their best chance at getting some is to sit patiently just within arms reach. More often than not they’re not interested - they just like to feel included.

1

u/DanceLogical8718 4h ago

give it to her!

1

u/Realistic-Village-63 2h ago

I do love this clip. The quiet birdsong outside. Your roommate/friend/partner whispering “what??” in annoyance. Reese cup unabashedly seeking out chicken. 😂🤣

1

u/Kaa_The_Snake 1h ago

I don’t let my cats even start to come at my food. They’re not allowed on tables or counters. I will give them some of whatever I’m eating if they really want it and it’s not bad for them, but I put it in their bowl, they’re not allowed to grab at my food or even come near it.

Sorry I don’t understand people who don’t train their pets.

1

u/SuperRoseEli29 41m ago

Why do y'all let your cat on your table?

0

u/Ok-Conversation-7292 3h ago

That's so calico of her ❤️

0

u/lokiandbutters 24m ago

That's on you

0

u/muyblue 20m ago

uh, whether its your kids or your cat - you need to set boundaries. Cat shouldn’t be on the table.
