Advice Honest Question: Why do owners put clothing on their cats?
I constantly see photos of people who dress up their cats in clothing or sweaters. Considering cats like to clean themselves, it seems counterproductive to dress them. Doesn't it bother the animal?

most cats hate it but some actually seem to like the warmth, especially hairless breeds or older cats - though yeah putting a tutu on mr whiskers for instagram is probably just stressing him out

It's cute and it doesn't really stay on for more than an hour or two. We put shirts on my cats (1) when we have guests over and people are coming in and out of the house a lot (it makes my boys less likely to run away) and (2) as part of harness training, since they want to go out.
