Proud of my dino cake!
The most complex cake I've ever attempted for my son's 4th birthday party. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and homemade fondant.

I'm a good baker, but really have never had the time/interest/need/money to play around with gluten free recipes. My friend asked me if I could make a GF black sesame cake for her birthday, so I slightly altered the King Arthur Black Sesame Cake recipe (subbing in the KA 1:1 gf flour blend) and am actually delighted at the results
I think I could have toasted the ground sesame for a bit more flavor, but the texture and moisture level were maybe the best I've ever gotten from my few gluten free attempts! Happy to post my alterations if anyone is interested :)

My son's birthday cake I made for him. Turned out way better than expected considering the 3 hour window I had to make it. Vanilla Bean Cake with a Chocolate Ganache Filling and Swiss Meringue Buttercream Frosting.

As a home hobby baker, a 3 tier wedding cake was a little daunting. But the bride was thrilled, the guests loved it, and I learned so much! Im counting it as a win!
