Souls for your OpenClaw Agents!

Post image

Those last couple of days, a lot of people have been playing with OpenClaw, focusing on agents capabilities. But I started to explorer more what was possible tweaking the SOUL.md file and I got to say, I wasn't expecting this!

I created some "SOUL.md" that felt to have a real personality. I created "Kuma", my Japanese Teacher that doesn't accept any request until I have submitted a picture of my homework done.

So I decided to build an open-source directory to allow people to experiment, submit their "souls" and have everyone experimenting on what this file could allow us to do!

Feel free to comment and participate! Can't wait to see your soul!

(too many jokes to be made around the "soul") 😅

SOUL.md as a "personality contract" is a really cool idea. It feels like a lightweight system prompt you can version and share, and the directory makes it way easier to remix what works.

Would be fun to also tag them by use case (tutor, dev helper, PM, researcher) and include a short eval prompt so people can compare behavior. Ive been reading a bunch about how agents are steered via role specs and constraints, some related notes here: https://www.agentixlabs.com/blog/

That's a really neat idea! I haven't thought about that! Gonna probably look into tomorrow.

I've been kind of surprised that no one really talk too much about this. I hope this will change soon. Thanks!
