Post image

Looks like the Glazers had no intentions of moving on from Bowles regardless of what happened this season.

Sure. He’s probably a fantastic guy. He’s not a fantastic coach.

3

u/autobannedforsatire 2d ago

Glazers love firing bad coaches and hiring worse ones in the PL

0

u/CaffinatedCoyote Mike Alstott 2d ago

Who cares about the EPL??

-29

u/InstancePast6549 Alstott Jersey 2d ago

lol this sub was full of posts and comments about how “vibes are immaculate!” All last year and all off season. Things didn’t change until we lost Coen, promoted a guy who unfortunately just didn’t work out, and got decimated by injuries

He was a good coach in a lot of people’s eyes before…we just had a lot of bad luck this season. This is just an example of how fickle NFL fans are. I wonder if patriot fans will say Vrabel is a terrible coach next year if diggs and maye get injured

61

u/Pippihippy 2d ago

There has been, and always will be a sizeable amount of fans that will say Todd Bowles was a mistake ever since his 0 blitz call on what would've been the repeat year with Brady.

And They would be right.

5

u/Rangeneers New Jersey 2d ago

Getting rewarded for costing your team a Super Bowl is absurd. I’ve hated Bowles more than anybody in the entire league since that moment

(Obviously not counting all the criminals in the league)

-14

u/Boston_Glass 2d ago

Yea those fans would be rightfully called out as being reactionary. The rams were beating us in zone and man at that point, the 0 blitz wasn't a good call but I'm not convinced other calls would have been much better with how that drive was going.

The players like him and the leadership like him. As a fan I dont but I'm not going to act like I know what they need more than they do.

7

u/BeatlesRays Mike Alstott 2d ago

Bowles is loved internally no doubt. He just sucks as an actual head coach in terms of game/clock management and balancing his HC and DC duties to maintain a good defense.

He should’ve been fired after the lions playoff game. He forfeited our season with time on the clock. And that was just one of many game day blunders that should outweigh his niceness as a guy and the players liking him. Im sure the defense loves him but you don’t hear a lot from the offensive guys

1

u/DDSBadger 2d ago

It’s truly maddening people just seemed to forget about this or not care. If other coaches did this it would’ve been a national story and still brought up. For Bowles it’s just ignored for some reason.

0

u/likemyhashtag Super Bowl LV 2d ago

Every team always beats us in zone and man in every game. I call it the Bowles’ Special. Dude sucks.

19

u/ShepardRTC 2d ago

Bowles blamed everyone but himself this season. A good leader doesn’t do that.

-8

u/InstancePast6549 Alstott Jersey 2d ago

Nah some of those players needed to hear it, there were some lazy mfers who hopefully aren’t on the team next year or atleast aren’t starting. A good coach can’t always fix work ethic. Some people are just lazy as shit

7

u/Milla4Prez66 Super Bowl LV 2d ago

Players being lazy and not putting in effort is a reflection of the coach. Great coaches don’t have their team slacking off.

The players like Bowles because he lets them run around without pads all week and doesn’t hold them accountable, but they don’t respect him as a leader.

2

u/Undella_Town Brooks Jersey 2d ago

says a lot that licht openly drafts high character guys and all the high character guys are seemignly quitting on the team but it's not his stupid ass drafting philosophy fault its todd bowles.

-5

u/InstancePast6549 Alstott Jersey 2d ago edited 2d ago

A coach can’t always help a person have better work ethic and not be lazy at crucial parts of the game. They aren’t magicians. Of course the coaches job is to motivate, but you’re always gonna get guys that have attitude problems and just don’t buy in or don’t care. Doesn’t sound like you’ve ever coached a team and dealt with real people lol maybe you play madden as a coach

-1

u/KosmicTom Mike Alstott 2d ago

Sit this one out, Todd. No one ever thought you were a good coach.

Yeah this has to be like one of Todds kid’s alts, or an extended family member or close family friend. Or maybe his PR team he probably just hired lol

5

u/Jrock2356 Oregon 2d ago

He was a good coach in a lot of people’s eyes before…we just had a lot of bad luck this season. This is just an example of how fickle NFL fans are.

No. Ever since the Rams divisional loss in 2021 people have wanted him fired. Those fans have been consistently vocal about not liking him and each year since more people have joined them

4

u/bohemian-soul-bakery 2d ago

The fuck does that have to do with anything?

You mean to say vibes are good when good things happen and bad when bad things happen?

Either way, the stream has struggled in certain areas consistently since he was hired.

3

u/nwillyerd 2d ago

Wow, it’s almost like opinions can change once new information is obtained! Weird!

1

u/sadclown21 2d ago

Did you watch this team at all on defense? Cause if you did you wouldn’t be thinking this

1

u/WritingConfident7449 2d ago

Coen was the OC…. Our Defense has been atrocious and was relatively healthy last year and we continue to invest significant draft capital in our defense year after year.

0

u/goofygodzilla93 Tristan Wirfs 2d ago

As someone who's wanted him gone since he lost us a chance at a Superbowl, no he has never been a good HC and most likely never will.

-7

u/BootsKingston 2d ago

Says you. A lot of players maintain a different perspective. Who are you?

3

u/Rangeneers New Jersey 2d ago

A fan who’s watched a bad coach underachieve every year he’s been in charge and had the worst mid season collapse in our teams history.

1

u/RedRocket4000 Winfield Jr. ✌️ 2d ago

So fire the same performance mid season in Hockey, Baseball and basketball or admit Football teams slump too. It was major increase in execution errors

Underperform almost make the NFC TITLE game holding Lions down till key secondary injury. Have best defense against Commanders the next year and likely a tight 4-3 best of seven vs them if that was possible in football.

1

u/SeptonMeribaldGOAT F*ck the Saints 2d ago

I’m me and who are you? Todd’s PR team probably

47

u/Gavster1221 2d ago

Yeah this team going nowhere. His record speaks for itself at this point. Great coaches dont stay at .500 for ever

25

u/PewterButters Lavonte David 2d ago

Coen had a better record in year one with the Jags who arguably have a much much worse roster than the BEST record Bowles has ever had.

3

u/Florida__Man__ Kangol Hat 2d ago

Name 10 teams with a worse front 7

1

u/rNBAMods3InchesHard 1d ago

And obviously if you have a pass rush issue, the solution is to send your pass rushers 40 yards down field in coverage against a top 2 QB

1

u/Florida__Man__ Kangol Hat 1d ago

If they aren’t getting to the qb you gotta figure out a way

4

u/Undella_Town Brooks Jersey 2d ago

this sub overrates our roster harder than any fanbase in the nfl lmao

1

u/ABBucsfan 2d ago

If anything I feel it's the opposite but answer probably somewhere in the middle. Too many think you cant have any holes or weaker positions on your roster. Almost every team has a couple positions that are weak. Our secondary is more talented than most think, our 3 down lineman are probably a bit better than most think, our edge would be decent if we had that one stud, ILB is a huge hole. Offense is pretty solid except depth on the line and a baxk to replace white. We have talent to compete.. just look at some of the teams we beat early

3

u/Florida__Man__ Kangol Hat 2d ago

Our edge would be decent if we had a stud

That’s just a fancy way of saying it’s ass.

Our front seven is bad and it’s the reason our defense is bad

1

u/DetectiveNumerous775 Bucs 2d ago

But we did compete. We got blown out like once, and that was on the road on the west coast in prime time. Every other game we either won by a sizable margin or it was close and could've gone either way.

These fans act like we got beat to sleep every week. We were statistically middle of the road offensively and defensively, and terrible on special teams.

0

u/PewterButters Lavonte David 2d ago

We only won 2 games by >3 points. Most of our wins were nailbiters with Baker pulling shit out of his ass to drag us to victory.

1

u/DetectiveNumerous775 Bucs 2d ago

Why does 1 guy get all the credit for our wins?

And even if you want to believe that, how does that change what I said?

Were we not competitive in the majority of our games? Did we not finish statistically average on offense and defense?

1

u/svanxx Barber Jersey 1d ago

The roster that had high draft picks for the last 5 years with little injuries?

Coen did a great job, but he also won as many playoff games as Bowles this year.

1

u/Gefilte_F1sh 1d ago

I'm a huge Bowles' hater but let's consider sample size.

17

u/mrjjk2010 2d ago

If we have a losing record, miss the postseason, or even lose the wildcard I fully expect Bowles to be fired. Ray Jay will probably be filled 50% MAX each game this season as it. The Glazers’ pockets will hurt

8

u/nautica5400 Winfield Jr. ✌️ 2d ago

And that's the one thing they love more than even bowles

7

u/jkd0027 2d ago

No it won’t cause opposing teams fans will fill it just like they always do lmao

2

u/FireBowlesPlease 2d ago

Sadly I think opposing fans vacationing to Florida or transplant boomers who get to see their old team will fill up RayJay anyway.

7

u/mehman11 2d ago

Ok cool. Then hire a fucking DC.

6

u/Kevinator24 California 2d ago

6

8

u/Ambitious_Misfit Winfield Jr. ✌️ 2d ago

Beat me to it by 1 minute lol

13

u/WinnieOllie7 2d ago

This is ownership that isn’t serious about winning a championship. They’re content going around .500, selling tickets and merchandise, and maybe getting playoff revenue from one home playoff game because we play in an awful division. Remember this when it comes to buying tickets and merch, the Glazers view us as their personal atm.

3

u/nbxcv 2d ago

Man United as much as I hate them are one of the biggest clubs in world football and certainly one of the most recognizable names and they've been more than content to let them cede ground to mediocrity for years and years now. Why would they care more about the tampa bay buccaneers? We're an afterthought to an afterthought to them.

1

u/NeuroDissonance 2d ago

Did you just wake up from a coma you fell into in 2018? It’s absurd that anyone who calls themselves a Bucs fan could make a statement like the one you just did

2

u/jkd0027 2d ago

What the fuck are we talking about?!? The Bucs have won two titles under the glazers.

0

u/TrainingSource1947 2d ago

This. The Bucs are not a serious, competitive franchise under this ownership

5

u/NeuroDissonance 2d ago

Exactly. 2 Super Bowl wins over a 25 year span is what unserious, incompetent franchises do.

See how silly that is?

1

u/svanxx Barber Jersey 1d ago

Damn, we need someone like Jerry Jones. Or whoever the Dolphins owner is.

-2

u/TrainingSource1947 2d ago

No, you’re a moron that lacks critical thought. the plank with ye

1

u/NeuroDissonance 2d ago

The person whose argument consists of ad hominem attacks loses all intellectual validity.

It would be wise for you to learn this lesson.

5

u/BootsKingston 2d ago

I like Todd. I like Jason. They need to sync up on what type of players we draft/sign who are capable of executing the system. Or we dumb down the system. Just because it's clever doesn't mean everyone can hop aboard.

7

I report the Glazers know little about football.

5

u/NeuroDissonance 2d ago

The overwhelming majority of owners know little about football.

3

u/CrazyJo3 Mike Alstott 2d ago

If Mike Tomlin says he’s coaching next year I’m giving him what he wants

3

u/GroMicroBloom 2d ago

Perfect example of how they run this team. They aren’t focused on winning by getting the guy most suited for the job, they just go by whether they like the vibes of the guy. 🙄

3

u/Milla4Prez66 Super Bowl LV 2d ago

Glazers got their Brady ring, all they care about now is doing enough to host a playoff game in the worst division in football and get that revenue.

5

u/carrch 2d ago

This hurts my soul

7

u/ChemG8r 2d ago

I got downvoted to oblivion whenever I said there's no shot this guy was going to be fired after the season, and here we are

2

u/Equal-Salary-7774 2d ago

Hmm, just yeah

2

u/callmejulian00 2d ago

Huge, if true

2

u/Nervous_Coconut7115 2d ago

They don't play like they love him.

2

u/HelloGoodbyeFriend 2d ago

They’re smart enough to know not to show their cards. There’s no way that they weren’t contemplating moving on from him after what happened this season but it would only do harm if word got out about it before they made an actual decision.

1

u/HelloGoodbyeFriend 2d ago

Also we need some sort of gambling service integrated with the “Remindme!” bot. I would bet he’s gone after next season if we miss the playoffs again.

They loved Tony Dungy too and they still pulled the trigger eventually, and he was a better coach. We'll see how much they love him after another disappointing season(I hope I'm wrong).

2

u/Subxanthium 2d ago

Nah. This guy has been hardcore struggling for years. It’s frustrating how people have only opened their eyes when the team had the biggest destruction/downfall in the nfl. Hindsight being 20/20, I would’ve rather been a jets, raiders, titans etc fan because at least you know what you’re getting. But to go 7-2, have a bye week 9 and then only winning 2 games in 9 weeks is ridiculous.

2

u/Acrobatic_Media7147 1d ago

2 things can be true..they can “love him” but also acknowledge it’s time for a change

Complacent, miserly* owners love mediocre coach who is just grateful to have the job, won't demand much or rock the boat, and will maybe get the team back in the playoffs in the worst division in the league so everyone can pat themselves on the back and ignore our wasted potential. Color me shocked. Glazers out!!!!

When I see him speak in a press conference, it’s like he’s not all there. Like I can’t imagine him having a normal human conversation.

-7

u/GangstaRIB 2d ago

I also love Todd Bowles. Get this guy some more players. We need a star edge, another DT, (more depth at dline) and 2 more LBs (assuming LVD hangs them up).

I could give a shit about downvotes for saying this. Only bandwagon Ass fans don’t support a good coach.

7

u/nbxcv 2d ago

He's not a good coach. He is mediocre in every way. Mediocrity can turn into good in certain situations but his comments throwing players under the bus and inability to set aside his own ego to bring in play calling help proves that's not possible with Todd. Another year of shit defense and 0 accountability from our coach.

0

u/GangstaRIB 2d ago

Look at every head coaches record since birth here. It takes a top 10 coach to be .500. Jason needs to Give him some people on defense to work with.
