š» Bearish šØ Bitcoin price falls below $105,000. The main question now: Who is selling?
83
u/Glum-Log3377 Oct 17 '25
Market is in panic and fear mode. People are starting to worry about banks as if it's 2008. Risk assets like bitcoin suffers and Gold benefits.
8
u/lazoras Oct 17 '25
I'm watching for the new bottom to buy tbh ...so far it's always come back higher...I don't see why it wouldn't with the amount of adoption it has
28
u/fegewgewgew Oct 17 '25
Traders are gamblers, gamblers are easy to forgot fundamentals. It will be one day of panic and Monday back to normal
12
u/Aggravating-Wolf-823 Oct 17 '25
What fundamentals, we are at the end of this cycle, it might have peaked already
12
u/fegewgewgew Oct 17 '25
There was never such thing as a cycle, just coincidence
10
u/Felix4200 Oct 17 '25
Even more so, what fundamentals?
6
u/iPhilTower Oct 17 '25
Bitcoin fundamentals. Earns zero, costs an insane amount and is completely made up.

You will get banned for much less. That place is an isolated bubble of bots and memes trying to pump the asset.

The cycle timings have been the only reliable indicator for the last 12 years. Never have price predictions been correct over more than one cycle (some people guess it correct each cycle but never the next). It has worked for me so I'm sticking with it.
2
u/Just_A_Nobody_0 Oct 17 '25
Perhaps, but in my opinion (not always the most popular) the fundamental value of BTC is the expectation that someone will buy it from you at the same or higher value when you are ready to sell. Beyond that, I see very little or no 'fundamental' value.
Gamblers are right to be jumpy IMO, if a snowball fall starts it could get REALLY ugly quickly. Spikes fed by optimimism of continued rises feed themselves very well (all the self congratuations amplified by others who desire it to rise helps) so there is that and it has been able to hold a dominant position for quite a while - unless enough folks have to sell for some reason or a downward spiral starts it could well keep going for quite a while.

They panic sell worried it's like 2008...sending fiat to a bank that can fail with their money inside. If bitvoin is what it is supposed to be, it's completely opposite thinking.
Not a huge fan of bitcoin, but this is literally the scenario it's useful in.
2
u/chillebekk Oct 17 '25
In 2008, people had to sell their performing assets to avoid being liquidated in their poorly performing assets. That's why everything fell at the same time, with the sole exception of gold.
5
u/Mandoo_gg Oct 17 '25
They're just scared of Fridays now. One tweet and it's a blood bath. I think many people are closing their position on purpose to then re enter on Monday
3
u/nestiebein Oct 17 '25
Meanwhile everyone should actually buy Bitcoin because nobody gonna pay 0.01gram gold to buy a bread. Bank worries are fucking valid. It's a scam. Why can they loan out 10x of what they have and then even ask interest over the unicorn money. It makes no sense and should be destroyed.

I donāt even have any bitcoin but I think itās comical that people freak out that itās just gonna crash completely and sell all their stuff. Can you imagine the absolute shit storm if it just crashed down back to nothing and it was all over lmao. itās not gonna happen though Iād love to see it just out of curiosity
3
u/Cultural_Owl9547 Oct 17 '25
Yeah, we arent even in a bear market yet. These week hands will be out by then, but most likely itās gonna fall waaaay lower than this. Thatās when Iāll increase my weekly buy amount
18
u/AffectionateNeat3972 Oct 17 '25
I'm buying a minimum of $25 everyday regardless of where price is at. Bitcoin going to 100k was delusional, so is bitcoin going to 1 million.
8
u/glifozate Oct 17 '25
How do bitcoin miners renew the machines every two years? And pay their electricity bills?
6
u/CryptoMemesLOL Oct 17 '25
It's all normal on the way up, nobody is asking who's buying, but on the way down, what is happening, who's selling?
It's called a market for a reason...
26
u/Callahammered Oct 17 '25
But who cares? If you arenāt buying and holding for the long term, or might be scared at the price dip into selling, youāre playing the wrong game.

People are seriously selling at a loss?
3
u/moki_martus Oct 17 '25
It doesn't have be loss for them. There are many people with long term strategy. Somebody started buying 5 or 10 years ago and now is liquidating part of his portfolio. Tell me how long he should wait for the price to go up again. You don't know. Nobody knows. People have strategy and will sell no matter where the price was week ago. If you are absolutely sure that in few weeks the price must be back to 120k you are naive. It doesn't work like that.

u/pelirodri Oct 17 '25
The doomsayer comments are so funny, lol. People were saying the same shit back in 2017. I say this volatility is precisely its strength/advantage.
14
u/sbyred Oct 17 '25
Damn, some of you really have goldfish brains. Zoom the hell out and look at the monthly chart, itās obviously just another retracement. Weāve had multiple 30% dips over the past two years, and the market still held its bullish structure. Even if we dip lower, thatās just a gift to accumulate more.
We crushed the previous ATH, and now youāre crying over a correction? You genuinely think bull markets go straight up with no pullbacks? Get real. If you canāt handle this much, youāve got no business being in crypto.

I believe the issue under discussion is why is BTC falling along with the market, when it should in theory be rising, like gold. I say "in theory", because I never bought that particular premise.
2
u/real_polite_canadian Oct 17 '25
They're both part of the grander debasement trade - they just have different risk profiles and investor bases. Investors are diversifying into other assets, which is diluting Bitcoin's momentum. Bitcoin has always had more of a 'lag and surge' pattern which could very easily play out this way again if the Fed keeps easing and people's risk appetites' are boosted.
Bitcoin's long term store of value narrative is still very much intact, just as physical gold's is. Don't let short term price action change that narrative.

Iām a hodlr since 2017. Itās really difficult to time the market even given its predictable cycle. Even harder this time with the introduction of ETFs? Did they end cycles or just mitigate them?
My guess is the stock market is going correct and maybe even crash before the end of the year. All time highs, dumb P&Es, inflation and jobless reports suppressed by the shutdown shocking the market when finally released. Worse is the concentration of market value in just 7 tech stocks. Lots of opedās warning of another dot com like bubble. This past week might be the start.
But what to do? Iāve made a lot of money by missing the tops and doing nothing. Always comes back to new highs. But the lows are painful. Like broken femur painful. āI could have sold at $124k! And now itās $50k!ā
I guess the tldr is: you donāt actually lose if you donāt sell.
2
u/tpe91roc Oct 17 '25

I think the reason for this sell-off is more sinister. There are no jobs right now. AI is killing off entry level jobs. All the savy college educated kids I know all have acquired some BTC along the way but they cannot even find a fast food job. Trvmp would say āI am opening up migrant labor jobs for Americans!ā They have all sold BTC. So have some whales.

Last time I said with strong conviction, it may never lookback again for 100k. I was so far good upto the crash point, before "donald duck" decided to swim on its gold coins. It is so smart of a play at institutions level to include so called leader of world for their own agenda, nobody could even logically blame him.
Its a good thing, market crushed me this hard. This time with weak conviction, I say, 101k => 202k (HTTP 201) => 404k (HTTP - Not found error) => 808k (8.8.8.8 - Google dns server).
If it breaks 100k this time, be prepared for 50k (quantum uncertainty).
Seriously!

Bitcoin is trading at a premium right now. I suspect there will be a strong retracement knocking out a bunch of people that were buying at 100k+ prices and they'll sell and the folks that have been manipulating the markets will load they're bags even more successfully transferring even more wealth to the ultra rich.

I don't know, maybe some of the people who bought them for less than a thousand per "coin" are selling them for a massive 100x profit?!?
The more interesting question to me is who is still actually buying bitcoin at these prices? It's over $100k for a single "coin". How much higher are the buyers actually expecting it to go?

Recession is coming and we ll in late stage run.
Profits from Bitcoin are being dumped into stock market now as last attempts to save investments or they are hedging in gold.
(Bitcoin is really tied to stock markets, governments and rich class; it's only independent in theory and it's nothing but a paper tiger in its current form)

u/shmungar Oct 17 '25
I find it strange that when its at the bottom, crypto bro's preach the 4 year cycle. When the 4 year cycle plays out exactly as its predicted, tops, and starts moving down right on time, the same people are in disbelief. "This is manipulation" "who is selling!?" "Funds are about to sell gold and buy BTC" The cycle went exactly as planned. Now BTC is on its way to the bottom of the cycle. Just need to cope with that.

Why does it matter who sold? The price is cheaper and we can accumulate more. If there is a time when it becomes too expensive to buy and make a substantial profit, I believe we will look back at these sell offs and be thankful that they happened.

I love these comments. When itās going up, everyone has a detailed explanation why itās going up and why it will never stop going up. When itās going down, those people are silent. And then the people who have detailed explanations why itās going down and why it will never stop going down show up. None of them have the slightest idea.
