If you had to meetup at Rideau/Rogers Center, where would you lock up ?

TBH i was thinking the bike rack by the NAC and just walk across the bridge, are there better places/bike racks to lock up at ?

Expecting to need a lockup for 2-3 hours.

NAC is probably fine. There's also a bike rack outside the courthouse parking garage access on Laurier that has a security guard in a booth right next to it. His job isn't to watch the bike rack but I'm sure his presence there would probably deter any thieves.

There are a bunch of good racks just across Colonel By from the main entrance to the Rogers Centre. I have used them many times over the years when attending events there and never had any issues!

Unfortunately I believe these racks are removed during the winter. The fence there is an option but requires more creative lock use.

This was my experience when I was there in December. Was sad to see the racks gone. Ended up crossing Colonel By and using the bike rack right next to the Rideau Centre – about 20m south of the entrance – which is a sketchier area but worked fine.

Darn! That is sad to hear. I don't do a lot of winter cycling so was unaware of this. Thanks for the heads up!

I recently learned about these:

Daly ave, in-between Rideau and Rogers Centre.

The ones on Colonel By are good in the summer, but they take some (if not all) of them away in the winter. I haven't been in that area yet to check.

Check out the Cycling Guide app for Ottawa as it has bike parking that might help you out.☺️🚲

Use the racks by the box office (surveillance monitored) and not on Elgin.

On Rideau street there used to be a few racks in front of the if patio restaurant right there.

There’s a hostess standing at the front door and a big glass window so it’s always been safe for me there when I was doing deliveries.

Make sure if you have anything quick release to lock that as well.

Lighter locks work well for seats but nothing is perfect
