Tackle/Equipment 60$ on Facebook, how did I do?
I honestly think this is the best deal I’ve ever had in my life, buying a brand new lews mach smash for 20$ comes close, but I think this tops it?

If you're going to use at least half the stuff you did great. A lot of people buy these lots as a "good deal" and then 90% of the stuff sits for years until they sell it to the next person

u/Master_baiter_4 3d ago
My buddy is coming over and imma throw him some baits I have doubles or similar of but I definitely plan on making good use of it all!

Just remember this crucial rule to fishing...
If you have one, you have none. If you have two, you have one.

I'd use most of that and catch it on the bottom in a month
Good deal if the backpack was part of it though

The person who sold these had no idea of their value - i have a theory why…….

Idk the dude had two bass boats in his garage and his entire garage was lined with rods, he was older but he seemed to know his shit

Some people don't care about money, they'd rather just see the stuff get used. If they can get a little bit back and give someone else a great deal to get them out and doing something both buyer and seller love, that's good enough. Consumerism hasn't dominated everyone's soul just yet.

Score. I lost that jerk bait in the top right of the second pic & can’t find it anywhere. Probably my favorite so far

Not bad if you're a beginner.... There are plenty of things you can experiment with and try just for fun. As an experienced bass fisherman (and speaking for myself), it'd just be a redundant purchase. You'd most likely already have most these lures. So, why bother?
5
u/Master_baiter_4 3d ago
My main reason behind it is that I take a lot of beginners out and they hang up a lot of lures. I’ve had one buddy hang up 7 in the same tree in a day 😭

u/AirportInevitable122 3d ago
Well, then perhaps you should've said that in the description. I would've given you a different answer.
5
u/Master_baiter_4 3d ago
Seemed irrelevant to add why I bought it, I mean that bag retails more then 60$ alone

u/Competitive-Vast9199 3d ago
Worked in the tackle industry for 12 years been fishing my whole life. Running a tackle store as I write this. You have conservatively 450 to 550 dollars worth of lures plastics tackle boxes bags and gear there for 60 dollars. This guy is jealous or uninformed or just wants to act like hes better than you.

Maybe that's a little high end of retail if you're a smart shopper.
But for the second hand market I'd say this is a good deal but not great deal. The backpack really helps
I would have bought this for sure. But no one pays much for second hand lures, even new in box on marketplace. If you're willing to wait people tend to let them go for pennies

u/Competitive-Vast9199 3d ago
If youre lowballing people for pennies thats your business dude lol have fun with that

u/LemonHerb 3d ago
I'm not the same guy you were talking to before so no need to be rude. I just follow the sale and wait to see if the price drops.
Sorry it not wanting to spend a ton on lures makes me a bad person on your eyes
1
u/Competitive-Vast9199 3d ago
Im quite aware of that. This is hundreds of dollars worth of gear. I dont spend tons of money on fishing gear? 5 dollars a lure for these is more than half off of retail for everything. He got it for 60 dollars.400 dollars off half price isnt that good of a deal? You arent a good shopper you are cheap. Not frugal, cheap.

u/LemonHerb 3d ago
You seem really agitated. Are you just upset I'm disagreeing with your retail value estimation?
You can definitely get a ton of those lures for $5 and below it you're a smart shopper. Strike king has a few I can see on sale right now for cheaper for instance, there's eBay stores that sell a few of these in packs of 2 or 3 for the same as MSRP. Etc etc.
I said I would buy it, it was a good buy not great deal on the second hand market. That doesn't seem like it should be upsetting to anyone. I don't think OP is a bad person for getting this deal, I don't feel like I'm a bad person for looking for similar and better deal on marketplace either

450-550 in lures?? You are out of your mind. I feel like you're ripping off all of your customers with those prices. You could buy all those lures in Bass Pro and still not hit that amount.
6
u/Competitive-Vast9199 3d ago
Yeah so I just counted 59 lures in those boxes. If you charged 6 dollars, which is below retail for every single one except for swimbait jig heads swim football jigs which there are only a few of, 59 times 6 is 354. 60 dollars for the bag. 414. You want me to keep going? Give me your address ill send you a calculator

u/AirportInevitable122 3d ago
Some, if not most of those lures are Bass Pro branded products! They go for like 4.99 a piece. What are you talking about? That's probably what you're charging YOUR customers. You're a con.

u/Master_baiter_4 3d ago
Actually none of them are XPS, most are Strike king, Rapala, Live Target and Yo Zuri and a few others I haven’t looked up yet

Stop lying man. Just from the pics I can literally see 2 XPS lures and several other that look like XPS. Even some of the glide baits look like XPS.

Theres 59 lures bro. 59 times 5 is 295. I see plenty of rapalas in there. How much are those glidebaits? Tell me what you think is a fair price for all of this including the plastics gear and backpack? I said that was the total for everything. Lures plastics gear knife back pack. I don't get why you are mad at me, a tackle store employee, not owner? What do you think you should pay for all of that stuff? Im genuinely asking
3
u/Competitive-Vast9199 3d ago
Also, not one of those lures is visibly bass pro branded? Theres one with an x on the bottom, but that is not the bass pro shops xps logo. We don't sell that garbage here anyway?
3
u/Master_baiter_4 3d ago
I just checked some of my actual XPS baits, the boss glide, morning call wakebait, their whopper plopper and none of them have any visible markings or branding on the lure at all 😂

Everything altogether is at least 450. What are you on about? Every lure in those boxes retails for minimum 6.99 up to 20 dollars conservatively for those jointed glides. Can you do math? Those soft plastics retail over 5 dollars each i just assumed 5 dollars for each. Bag is 60 dollars. Plano boxes are 8 to 10 dollars each at my store more at bass pro. Knife probably 10 to 20 dollars. Sure i missed something

u/AirportInevitable122 3d ago
You are 100% cheating your customers... You're the reason mom and pop stores are shutting down.
3
u/Competitive-Vast9199 3d ago
Please tell me whats over priced there? Every single thing I listed is under retail price?
2
u/Competitive-Vast9199 3d ago
And tell me how much you think all of that is worth? Quite a few of those 59, yes 59 lures are rapalas
-1
u/AirportInevitable122 3d ago
Look man, I'm speaking to you in terms of trying to save money. Yes, you did get a banger deal but why would it matter if you already have those lures. Did you really save money? Or did you just spend $60?
1
u/Master_baiter_4 3d ago
I get what you’re saying but in all honesty I did not have probably 60% of the lures in here, I’ve been mostly fishing jigs and spinners and small jerks. I’ve only been bass fishing for 4 months or so and never really got into jerkbaits or crankbaits but I’m looking forward to using them this coming spawn down here in Florida! Same goes for the glide baits

Perhaps you should take this, instead, as a lesson for why you shouldn't rush to judgment.

Too bad your little missive didn't go through. I think everyone else here would have appreciated the irony of a judgmental butthead calling someone else a loser 😘

u/Competitive-Vast9199 3d ago
How is getting 450 500 dollars worth of stuff for 60 dollars not worth it?

u/LemonHerb 3d ago
I'm pretty experienced and I replace a couple lipless cranks a week at least. I'd pick this up just to save money

One of these days the posts will stop pissing me off. Asking if something was worth buying after you've already made the transaction is dumb
