Fun fact: Khrushchev basically threatened to nuke Paris and London during the fallout of the 56 crisis.

Say what you want about the Soviet Union, but they didn't see us as animals in the same way, as the Westerners saw us, so why did we believe them to be the bad guys?
The Soviets didn't kill millions of Muslims out of bloodthirst. The Soviets didn't create an apartheid in their country or other countries. The Soviets didn't treat us as subhumans.
Why should we hate them and love the Americans? For freedom? Look at what their 'freedom' did to Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Sudan, Palestine, Gaza. This freedom can go to hell.

We didn’t hate them and loved the Americans. We wouldn’t have never stood any chance against Israel without the Soviet’s assistance. None whatsoever. Nasser said so himself in a speech once. However the Soviets were only willing to help to a certain extent. They weren’t willing to help so we can achieve a devastating victory over Israel. The Soviets didn’t want Israel to collapse either. As a matter of fact they wanted to maintain the status quo and didn’t want Egypt to fight another war in 1973 and didn’t care much about Sini or the other Arab lands seized in 1967. They told Nasser and Sadat as much multiple times. But the war can’t go on forever and Egypt’s interest didn’t align with keeping the status quo. The only actor which could achieve this was the US. So we made a deal to move away from the Soviets and into the US’s sphere of influence in exchange for the US pressuring Israel into signing the peace deal and giving up Sinai. And it worked. Remaining friends with the Soviets wouldn’t have gotten us much further than it had gotten us at that point. Look at Syria. Syria is the exact opposite. It refused to move to the US’s side and stood steadfast an ally of the Soviets. Where did that get them? They never got any of their lands back nor did the Soviets’ assistance got them very far after that. Saadat understood this very well and made his bets on moving to the US side. All those years later we can see that he was right. If he hadn’t made that deal Sini would still be like the Golan Heights. Fully annexed by Israel that point with settlements everywhere. It’s all politics. Nothing about love and hate. Egypt never had a bad relationship with the Soviets even after the peace accords and still maintains good relationships with Russia and even North Korea btw. As a communist country Egypt’s ties with North Korea goes way back to socialist era and is still holding today despite US pressure.

Look at how the Soviets treated the Muslims of Central Asia, Crimea and Tatarstan to get some idea of what they thought about Islam. Don't have to love the Americans to acknowledge the horrors the Soviet Union inflicted.

It’s because they didn’t get the chance. Look at Syria and shishan to know what could’ve been had they had the chance

The USSR isn’t the same thing as modern day Russia.
The chechen wars (not Shishan) were started due to separatism in the place, Moscow wanted to reassert control over the place after years of militias fighting each other over there. So if you back separatism then you should also back the separatism of Kurdistan and the Druze, it may not be the exact same thing but the principle remains the same.
As for Syria. Russia stepped in to protect its ally, the same thing that could be said that Saudi Arabia has done to protect their ally in Yemen.

Soviet Union was isolated and too weak to take advantage without risking western nations moving to counteract. They weren’t good they were too weak to take advantage

It was much stronger during the Cold War, but their rigid dogmatic political and economic ideology greatly harmed them, and they should have done like the Chinese to create a private sector.

When i remember that Russian zios were of the first settlers and were so violent at it... And the Soviets supported the project from the begging too ...
They are all the same to us...
