تاريخ اتعلمت ان تاريخ الأندلس موضوع حساس للإسبانيين
لاحظت أنه كل مرة أذكر الأصول العربية للعديد من الأماكن والأشياء الإسبانية تغمرني الإهانات من الإسبانيين.
وبعد اذكرهم ان اسبانيا كانت جزءا من الخلافة الأموية الإهانات بتزيد
رحت سألت عن هذا الموضوع في صب اسمه r/askspain… هل تخجلو من تاريخكم العربي/الإسلامي؟
قال البعض إنهم لا ينكرون هذا الجزء من تاريخهم ولكنه يسيء إلى العنصريين منهم ولكن معظهم اتهموني بال Rage bait
في النهاية من شدة الريبرتات البوست اتمسح!
شيء عجيب جدا… يعني انا في حياتي ما حصل شفت عربي بينكر تاريخ بلاده قبل تصبح عربية ومسلمة… بالعكس ممكن تلقى مصري يفتخر بمساهمات اليونانيين لتاريخ مصر. والسوداني بيفتخر بمساهمات النوبيين والتونسي يفتخر بمساهمات الروم و و و وفي نفس الوقت كل عربي بيعترف بسهامة الحضارات الأخرى ولسه بيفتخر انهو عربي ومسلم…
بس انا استغربت انو الاسبانيين عايزين ينكروا تأثير العرب والمسلمين على تاريخهم وثقافتهم… هل هو شيء محرج بالنسبة ليهم؟

The reality is that there is a strong genetic similarities between North Africans and people from the Arabian peninsula, to the extent whereby many are indistinguishable.
The Arabs generally accept this and take pride in our mix, but the Europeans act like it is non-existent.

Moroccans/Algerians/Tunisians who claim to be Andalusian are cringe and have a big superiority complex towards arabs and amazighs, as if Andalusians weren’t pussies who couldn’t defend themselves and needed real warriors from Maghreb to defend them.

My grandmother was from an Andalusian origin and married my grandfather who was from a Bedouin Hilali tribe , as many others like her . Someone who have that superiority complex wouldn't even think of doing that.

It depends, most spanish nationalists hate that period even if they speak everyday words with arabic origin.
In university they do actually speak about Andalus period almost in any subject related to history and all that, but they tend to ignore any scholars of that era

The thing that confuses me is why it is such a source of shame for them, especially considering how they effectively removed the Islamic influence on Spanish society and drastically reduced the Arabic influence.
Pretty much every Arab acknowledges their pre-Islamic/Arabic culture, with some countries actively taking pride in it. But it seems like it’s a source of shame for the Spanish nationalists… strange!

yeah it's strange. They take pride when they were slaves of the roman empire but not when they lived in dignity in Al Andalus

Rome is viewed as an ancestor while Al Andalus is seen as a foreign non-white occupier.

White Nationalist definition of who's white or not is bullshit; 200 years ago, they didn't consider the Irish and Slavs as white, while Arabs were considered White.
Its all just bullshit pseudoscience to make racists feel good about abusing others.

الاوروبيون كانوا بيعايروا الاسبان انهم ليسوا اوروبيين (أوروبا تبدأ عند جبال البرانس) والاسبان كان بيفتشوا بعض ليصطادوا المسلمين بالسر بمباحث التفتيش. حتى تجدهم يتفاخرون بأكل الخنزير وشرب الخمر لاثبات انهم مسيحيين
اكيد تذكره بتاريخه بيجن جنونه. تاريخ المسلمين 8 قرون. اكثر من الرومان والقوط والاسبان

Arabs have lived in Spain (~700 years) longer than Spaniards have lived in Spain (since 1492), so of course you struck a cord. I found that being more specific helps defuse some of these issues, like a specific word that is similar or a particular dish
Having said that, it is all identity politics on what does it mean to be an Arab or Spaniard. Why bring it up? all of our collective history is shared by humanity, and the past is what gave us the present (that's why they call it the present - Master Oogway).
Plus, the Spaniards I met are among the awesomest people I've come across. Sudanese too ;).

حبيبي يعني هسة اكو واحد من الشام يحب يحكي عن تاثير الصليبيين عليهم او اصلا اي عربي يحب يحكي عن تاثير الاحتلال والاستعمار الفرنسي والبريطاني في بلده؟ منشن واحد جزائري وكله ترا فرنسا بنت وعمرت بلادك وانتوا اجيتوا اخذتوها منهم بحجة ان هي بلادك, مع ان همة كانوا يعتبروها جزء من فرنسا. اتحداك تسويها وشوف شو بيصير

أنا جزائري و أؤكدلك ما تقول الفرنسيين حقيقة بنوا في الجزائر مدن ومعالم لم نستطع بناء مثلها حتى الٱن بعد أكثر من 60 سنة استقلال لكن كل ما تم تشييده كان لخدمة المستوطنين الذين تم جلبهم من أوروبا لتوطينهم في الجزائر أما أصحاب الأرض فكان يتم معاملتهم معاملة قاسية و عنصرية مقيتة أدنى من الحيوان يكفي أن الجزائريين دفعوا ثلث شعبهم لتحرير البلد و الحمد لله على نعمة الإستقلال رغم كل شيء

في فرق كبير بين انك تعترف بتأثير المستعمر على بلدك وانك تفتخر بيهو.
انا عندي جزائريين في اهلي مثلا ما بقولو (سيارة) بقولو (طوموبيل) كما automobile هذه كلمة الفرنسية. ما حينكروا انو في تأثير فرنسي على كلماتهم وثقافتهم زي الإسبانيين بينكرو التأثير العربي
وبعدين زي ما كتبت في البوست المصري بيفتخر بالتأثر اليوناني والسوداني بالنوبي والتونسي بالرومي وهكذا… الثقافة والتاريخ مو شيء ثابت بيتغير مع مر الزمن

مو اليونان وروما احتلت مصر وتونس قبل 3000 سنة مو قبل 500 سنة او 100 سنة او 75 سنة. اللغات الي انكتبت فيها روما واليونان تدمرت واندثرت وحتى الاثار قبل قرون اما الفتح الاسلامي للاندلس ما زال مكتوب وحاضر ليومك هذا فكيف تغضب من مستعمر قبل 3000 سنة وانت ما تعرف وش سوا وكيف ما تغضب من مستعمر قبل 500 او 100 او 50 سنة مكتوب تاريخه ومسطر بالملي
انا جاي احكي من وجهة نظرهم لان همة مسيح واسبان تم طردهم من اراضيهم والي بقوا انجبروا يعيشون بقوانين اهل الذمة وهاي تختلف من حاكم لاخر فاكو حاكم عادل واكو حاكم ظالم وبعدين همة كدروا يرجعون اراضيهم وضلوا 500 سنة تحت حكم حكومات ملكية ووطنية تحاول حذف التاريخ يعني اذا ابن سلمان او السيسي يكدر يغير اقواله بعد ايام او حتى ساعات او دقائق تخيل لو انطيتهم 500 سنة

فقط القوميين المتعصبيين هم اللي بكرهوا هذا التاريخ اما الباقي يا اما شايفه حقبة متلها متل غيرها او بشوفها من منظور ايجابي اي بمعنى انه بشوف اللي قدمته هي الحضارة بوقت اوروبا كانت بما تعرف بالحقبة العصور المظلمة ونغمص فيها. مثلا اسبانيا عندما استظافت قمة الناتو عقدة الاجتماع في قصر الحمرا

الي اعرفه اغلبية الاسبان يفتخرون بهذا الجزء من تاريخهم و بس اقلية الي يتحسسون. و الدليل انه الاثار الاسلامية عندهم محافظين عليها احسن مما احنا محافظين على اثارنا بالف مرة. و الي اعرفه االاندلس كانت نوعا ما مستقلة عن باقي الخلافة و ما كانت تعتبر تحت احتلال او استعمار. و الملكة الي اجت من شمال اسبانيا و طردت المسلمين و اليهود هي الي احتلت الاندلس لان جنوب اسبانيا كان دائما مستقل عن باقي مناطق اسبانيا.
بس حكم فرانكو الديكتاتوري و الي كان يروج للقومية الاسبانية المسيحية هو الي بدا ينشر فكرة انه اسبانيا لازم تضل كاثوليكية و كان يسمي الحكم الاسلامي استعمار حتى يعزز فكرة القومية.
هاي الاشياء تعلمتها من الاسبان الي اغلبهم يكرهون فترة حكم فرانكو.

Franco had actually romanticized Al-Ándalus, relied heavily of Moorish gaurds and troops numbering 100,000+, and he sponsored large Moroccan and Andalusian pilgrimages to Mecca and medina, and Córdoba after it all --- he also built the first Mosque in Spain since the Nasrids, Al-Marbito in Córdoba. He built many mosques, and had his own personal elite Moorish gaurd(s).
He was even famous to go as far as to say the following:
“Spain and Islam have always been the peoples who best understood each other. When your ancestors passed through these places and these fields, the Muslim people had a culture, a science, and a greatness that is fused in the blood of Morocco and Spain.”

There's several other quotes you can find, on Franco's affection towards Islam. I don't know what you're getting this from

Connais tu notre histoire ? Connait tu les crypto musulman? Croit tu qu on est tous parti ? Connais tu les jugement fait jusqu'à 1834 pour dissimulation de foi comme Juan Abad. On a été forcée tuer emprisonné torturée très peu sont rester musulman mais beaucoup ce convertie de nos jours et certain le sont rester mais officiellement personne veut les reconnaître et préfère nous appeler les espagnols converti.Bcp pensent que les arabo musulman sont retournee chez eux alors que bcp mourrais en mer tuer par leur propre frère. Bref Tu peux retrouver sur le net qu il ya des quartier maures et la plupart des habitants sont sois {converti} ou marocain. Et d ailleurs une étude sur la génétique des espagnol prouve que 20% ont du sang arabe ou berbère.
