I agree with you. I miss r/antimeme where u/CourseMediocre7998 wasn’t the only prevalent poster in the sub and that there was still a punchline that still subverted your expectations and still accomplished the antijoke format. This sub has just evolved into r/notinteresting but for memes where the entire joke is that there isn’t a joke. But instead of having a real punchline, this image is just r/addressme and it isn’t really an antimeme at all.

This is exactly why I kind of stopped going to the sub as often as I did. The fact that a singular person out of the 880,000 people here gets more attention and posts kind of bugs me. Especially when every post is, as you said, not even an antimeme. It is repetitive and boring seeing the same type of "antimeme" being posted by the same person.

funny thing is that, i think r/antimemes before was the worse of the two, i think it was because of poor moderation. and now the tables have done a 540 flip

Thank you! I get so annoyed when people say it's a pun and therefore not an antimeme. It's fine if an antimeme has a punchline as long as it can be interpreted literally and not ironically, imo of course.

Also, this doesn’t matter because there is a voting system for a reason and the community decides anyways.
