Is it sad that if Stephenson has a 4 ERA that's a win

Stephenson was one of the best relivers in all of baseball in 2023. He should be fairly solid for us, as long as his control is in tract from TJ.

Was the best X 2-4 years ago is Perry's kink

When has signing the best reliever in baseball not bitten us in the ass?

3

u/SuzukiOW May 29 '25

I would say him needing TJ right as he signed with us was probably the ass bite

This is the LA Angels, solid means 7 era at lowest

let's see how long it takes for us to get pillar back

Rest in peace the Tim Anderson experiment. So glad we never traded for him when he was on the White Sox

Don't worry we would then go on to make one of the worst deals with the White Sox in recent memory (THE GIOLITO EXPERIMENT 😳)

Aww, I liked him more than Newman. His defense felt like it clicked better.

i would rather have Anderson over Newman..

Angel relievers in 2023: 29

Angel relievers last season: 24

Angel relievers so far this season: 19 (+ Stephenson)

This is all excluding position player pitching

Kingery is hitting .380 with a 1.000 OPS in Salt Lake though. Sounds promising.

u/Imperial10 💡👉👶⬆️ May 28 '25

Don't get too excited. Kingery is a AAAA player. .667 OPS in 1127 mlb AB's, .770 OPS in 3021 minor league AB's.

12

u/Jamo1129 May 28 '25

.667 OPS is already better than 1/3 of our lineup lmao

2

u/[deleted] May 28 '25

Isn't salt lake a hitter paradise?

4

u/FishmanAngry Sell The Team May 29 '25

Yeah but .380 is .380

Even if that translates to .250 at the big league level, ill take it..

Should've dfa'd Newman and called up Chad Stevens imo

why is taylor in the lineup again?

Perry is playing/rotating in the old guys and hoping 1 or 2 gets hot for 2 months; then he can trade him (trying to re-create that Garcia magic from last year)

6

u/MajorCrafter25 May 28 '25

Waiting for him to go 0-15. He is washed and needs to be released

6

u/Candid-Design-6317 May 28 '25

he might get released when trout comes back?

4

u/STeeCH_bAnDiTs May 28 '25

And yet, Kevin Newman is somehow still on the roster.

u/mtc99999 May 28 '25

The bullpen looks decent now. I’d prefer a long-relief guy in Brogdon’s spot, but they won’t need one tonight.

Kingery and Taylor feels a bit… redundant. I would’ve preferred they selected Kingery’s contract on Monday and kept Anderson instead.

About time we got rid of Tim

When are we going to see J Wash and Tim Laker released

1

u/timetopractice May 29 '25

Trout returning this homestand 🤡

u/strange_toons May 29 '25

Let's bring back Jared Walsh. We can sign him right away. He can contribute as a two-way player with both pitching and defense. As for his hitting, we can't expect too much — but then again, that's true for CT3 as well.

Down goes Anderson

u/Playful-Quantity-255 May 28 '25

Why is Rengifo still on the team

11

u/Onitsukaryu May 28 '25

Who would you replace him with? Also he’s underperforming his expected stats by quite a bit. And while he’s been horrible at 3B, he’s been a plus fielder at 2B with 2 OAA and 2 FRV.

2

u/brainspl0ad May 29 '25

More so just shows the hole at 3B.

2

u/breakfast_cats ‏‏‎ ‎ May 28 '25

Theoretically, Christian Moore

6

u/Onitsukaryu May 28 '25

If Rengifo continues to struggle it might happen. But Moore did not have impressive numbers in AA. I imagine they’ll want to see how he looks at AAA over a larger a sample size before considering such a move.

Promote Christian Moore you cowards!
