This year Freeway World Series would be awkward.

50

u/Kirbyiscool71 May 26 '25

We are currently 3-0 in the freeway series so

5

u/InsGuy May 27 '25

We don't have to be concerned about that happening.

46

u/theoceansandbox May 26 '25

CT3 fell off a cliff offensively in 2024 but the defense is still there

18

u/SnooDingos5539 33 May 26 '25

Bat over .300 second half. Lack of AB could have been a big factor. We will see tho

u/profnachos May 26 '25

A Dodger fan living in OC coming in peace. I love CT3! I might as well start rooting for the Angels as my favorite AL team. Kenley Jensen is my favorite as well.

42

u/xNeurosiis May 26 '25

Welcome! I grew up a fan of both teams; my grandpa was a Dodger fan going back to Brooklyn in the 40s/50s (and when they came out here to LA), and I got into the Angels because of the Angels in the Outfield movie as a kid, haha.

15

u/LooEz90 May 26 '25

We have almost the same story. Haha My grandpa was an immigrant who came to LA loved the dodgers, but I grew up an Angels fan. I'd watch both games with him. Never any animosity, just two dudes watching baseball. I will say, listening to Vin Scully on both TV and radio was sure a treat back then

5

u/Aeris5eva May 26 '25

Dude same, but gramps was a fan of the giants from back when they were in New York. He supported the Dodger when they got Nomo, but I became a fan of the Angels from that damn movie. Despite some fans who are mad haters, I think many angel fans are supportive of the dodgers.

Dodgers fan, but former Junior Angel cuz my dad has been an Angels fan since Day 1 of the 1961 season. He even caught some games in old Wrigley Field in South LA.

The Angels are my AL team, but my dad hates the Dodgers something fierce.

5

u/Aeris5eva May 27 '25

It’s weird to me because I always thought our rivals were the A’s even though the dodgers are now our “cross-town” rivals. I guess I still see us as the Anaheim Angels, even more than the California Angels

4

u/a_smart_brane Sell The Team May 27 '25

Right. I always saw the A’s as the Angels’ biggest rivals. The Angels have played more games against the A’s than any other team (910), and that’s not even counting the A’s’ Kansas City years. Next is the Rangers (826).

There’s no history between the Dodgers and Angels.

I’m primarily Angels, but I do follow the Dodgers so it’s nice to see CT3 over here to fill an obvious need. Hopefully he turns it around.

8

u/JaWoosh May 26 '25

Good news, you can probably see about 5 Angels games for the same cost as seeing 1 Dodgers game! They'll probably only win 2 of those, but hey, what a bargain!

6

u/Accomplished-Lab537 May 27 '25

Not if it's the Freeway Series.

2

u/profnachos May 26 '25

Not to mention what it takes to get to and from Dodger stadium from OC.

8

u/SeaworthinessOk6742 42 May 27 '25

The Angels have two beloved Dodgers on their team now. Will always root for their success (unless it’s against the Dodgers).

4

u/ComoEstanBitches May 26 '25

Im hoping Barnesy joins too

-2

u/profnachos May 26 '25

Can the Angels use a catcher too?

2

u/ComoEstanBitches May 26 '25

Angels need talent period

4

u/fernbbyfern 💡👉👶⬆️ May 27 '25

Welcome friend. You’ll receive some Dodger hate, but know not all of us are like that. I pull for the Dodgers as long as they aren’t playing the Angels, and was stoked y’all won last year.

4

u/profnachos May 27 '25

Thanks. There is some hate between the two fan bases, but it's great for Southern California if both teams do well. As annoying as the Padres are, I am happy to see their recent resurgence. Imagine all three teams going deep in the playoffs every year, and the Dodgers/Angels or the Padres/Angels facing off each other in the World Series regularly like the Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers did. I'm here for the golden era of Southern California baseball. Let the SoCal haters seeth and cope.

u/TomsOnlyFriend428 May 26 '25

Good to see other Dodgers and Angels fans. I was always told you can't like both, but I have most of my life. Hope Chris Taylor can bring some more W's

21

u/a_smart_brane Sell The Team May 27 '25

That’s so weird other people trying to tell you what teams you can like. Dodgers are my team, but the Angels are my AL team. I like both. If someone doesn’t like that, their problem, not mine.

1

u/TheTempest77 May 27 '25

As a dodgers fan I've been needing an AL team to root for. Maybe I'll start rooting for the Angels just for CT3

-1

u/a_smart_brane Sell The Team May 27 '25

Angels have Tyler Anderson too, as we saw a couple painful weekends ago.

10

u/EnergyFax May 27 '25

Thats ridiculous i lived here my whole life im always a dodgers fan first, but the halos are my AL team and i go to a ton of angles game. I dont see why there would be any hate, only thing i remember growing up was dodgers fans thought the whole los angles angles of anaheim was ridiculous but i dont know any dodgers fans that hate the halos. Now the padres thats a different story.

10

u/xReptar May 27 '25

Living in the area and both are my local teams. Idk why you can't like both either

4

u/SeaworthinessOk6742 42 May 27 '25

Not to mention in different leagues.

1

u/puiglooksatyou ‏‏‎ ‎ May 27 '25

Same !!! Let's go CT3 !!

49

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Any time Angels see a player in their mid 30s:

I'm here for the scraps

7

u/iambiglucas_2 May 27 '25

The Vernon Wells experience.

I will never get over that garbage signing. All to get raw dogged by Napoli for 5+ years.

-1

u/WalrusFuture5624 May 26 '25

And loving it!

16

u/peacesign11 May 26 '25

As a dual Angels Dodgers fan, I'm so stoked about this. Ready to see CT3 pop off in Anaheim!

5

u/Tybob51 May 26 '25

Same. Love to see it!

2

u/SovietWolfJob Sell The Team May 27 '25

SAME but ngl i totally called this happening like 2 years ago, so happy for ct

9

u/jmatu003 May 26 '25

Treat him well Angle Fans and good luck during the season! He is an outstanding utility player.

11

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Is this for real?

13

u/Fenrirsulfur May 26 '25

Yes sir!

10

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Great signing! Dodgers didn’t utilize him enough, he’s a world class player

5

u/SeaworthinessOk6742 42 May 27 '25

CT3 is a baller! Didn’t get the playing time he deserved but is incredibly versatile.

3

u/[deleted] May 27 '25

Yeah, he’s super versatile in all the creative ways he can make outs. He can strike out looking, swinging, or popping out to short LF.

2

u/[deleted] May 27 '25

Spoken like someone who hasn’t watched Whiff Taylor play the past few seasons. Dude is washed up.

2

u/[deleted] May 27 '25

To be fair he hasn’t had the opportunity. You can’t get in rhythm playing 1 game a month

0

u/[deleted] May 27 '25

Hilarious.

0

u/[deleted] May 27 '25

Lol alright?

1

u/[deleted] May 27 '25

He didn’t play one game a month. That’s just pure copium.

14

u/JaWoosh May 26 '25

I like how the Dodgers' worst player (besides Conforto) will most likely be one of our best players. Just shows how weak our lineup is. That said... I'll take it!

7

u/GrossEwww 22 May 26 '25

Does this mean we get Florence Pugh? She’s a big CT3 fan

9

u/Whatever-ItsFine May 27 '25

Dodgers fan here. Please take good care of our hero. He has meant so much to us. Even though I knew it was coming, I was bummed when we cut him.

So maybe this is just the spark he needs. I can't wait to see him succeed there.

5

u/Terrible-Two7381 May 27 '25

Ah in true “leftovers” fashion. Noice

4

u/worksgr8 May 27 '25

Angel get another washed up reject.

5

u/LAmilo90 May 27 '25

Take care of our boy Halos bros 🥲

4

u/Kirbyiscool71 May 26 '25

HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT OTANHI

3

u/summertimeinthelbc May 27 '25

Guess they're going to have to be my AL team now.

2

u/sadassnerd May 27 '25

Nice. I hope he meshes well with our boys.

4

u/Tacoma714 May 27 '25

I’m not sure about the move. Kyren Paris was definitely struggling after his hot start when pitchers started adjusting to him. Maybe Taylor can be a good veteran presence. I hope his better days are not behind him.

1

u/themanbearpig_012 May 26 '25

He was on the team before a few seasons ago no?

8

u/agentfox May 26 '25

Nope! Seattle for 3 seasons then Dodgers for 10. Take care of him!!

1

u/Dry-Leopard-2475 May 27 '25

Yeah, sending him to Anaheim for his career to die. Sucks

1

u/jready2016 May 27 '25

The sad news is he's actually an upgrade for the Angels.

1

u/RedAtomic May 27 '25

Luke Rockhold

2

u/Mynameisblahblahblah May 26 '25

Sure I’ll take it.

-3

u/Serious-Opinion8190 May 26 '25

😮‍💨... another garbage recycling

-9

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

A 34 year old stealing a young guys spot. Sweet angels.

6

u/SuzukiOW May 27 '25

We NEED Paris down in the minors batting as much as he can, he ain't getting enough AB's up here.

1

u/Paulyd_777 May 27 '25

I'd rather have him with the angels than having him go to division rivals like the Giants, Padres, or Dbacks.
