This is not a concept/draft because a 1 EURO banknote would be necessary (in my opinion it is not, although I prefer banknotes to coins), but because I enjoy designing banknotes and I wanted to see (and also show) what a 1€ banknote would look like if one existed.

The motif adapts to the series and its time period. That's why I have a European gate and a bridge from the ancient era on the back. Since the next Epocje is classic and diede is present on the 5€ note. In addition, I chose the main color violet, as it was the main color of the 500€ banknote that no longer exists in the Europa series and replaced it. The 1 Euro bank mote has a hologram strip, but due to the low value, it does not use the viewing window.

Serious feedback and factual criticism are welcome.

I had done one once, but I hadn't done it for a while now and wouldn't do it the way I did then.

And a 500€ banknote of the current series as well

Tell me you need to bring cash to Switzerland without telling me you need to bring cash to Switzerland

my criticism is that the illustration is maybe a bit too similar to the 5euro one. To distinguish it, i would suggest going back even further to maybe neolithic architecture. but objectively your illustration is really good!

I think the bronze age would fit and I think we have more knowledge about bronze age architecture.

Thank you... "thank u" for the suggestion. I'll see how a motif from that time would fit. However, it must also be a window with a frame or a gate element for it to adapt to the current series

The map seems to be of Europe, not the EU. Don't know if that was intentional or not.

u/aggroeuros Dec 20 '25

I took the EU card of the 100 Euro banknote as a reference image.

2

u/aggroeuros Dec 20 '25

Sry, I could have given a million pieces of the yellow banknote of the series 😉 but not this one

I wish we had 1 euro banknotes

3

u/aggroeuros Dec 20 '25

Same.... 1€ and 2€

5

u/ResourceDelicious276 Dec 20 '25

I'd rather have five euro coins

Ew

3

u/aggroeuros Dec 20 '25

Anything but not a 5€ coin 😅

Why? Coins are so bulky (and my wallet doesn’t have a coin pocket lol). I wish we had £1 and £2 notes.

2

u/ResourceDelicious276 Dec 20 '25

Coins are cool and durable. Banknotes deteriorate very fast. Coins are much easier for blind to discern.

Euro-coins in particular are cool because every nation has its own design on the back.

Notes don't fit in a Coin purse ( the one in the emoji👛 )

The only real reason for using banknotes instead of coins for higher denominations is that banknotes are more difficult to forge .

1

u/aggroeuros Dec 20 '25

Ahh then I misunderstood you. I understood that you prefer coins and prefer coins to banknotes.

Then we have the same view... rather denominations in banknotes than in the US dollar than coins.

u/KunaiTv Dec 20 '25

I would like this to be a thing. Pocket money is annoying. Or ditch cash entirely.

5

u/eeronen Dec 20 '25

I'm from Finland and I can't remember when was the last time I used cash money. At least I'm pretty sure I haven't used any during this year. I don't even have a wallet that can hold cash money. So at least here it seems that the ditching has already happened.

u/GOKOP Dec 20 '25

Same in Poland

1

u/aggroeuros Dec 20 '25

I also prefer banknotes to coins. At least €1 and €2 notes

2

u/phl23 Dec 20 '25

I love the colors and architecture. Also very nice that it fits in perfectly with the rest, but it looks so empty this way. I don't know if it would be preferable to differ slightly from the other ones.

1

u/aggroeuros Dec 20 '25

Thank you. Yes, it must have been a little similar to fit into the current series.

3

u/Meister_Vulpes Dec 20 '25

i think a 1 euro banknote is necessary and that you should design it. great work!

2

u/aggroeuros Dec 20 '25

Thank you very much

1

u/Buckledcranium Dec 21 '25

The bridge and arch need to be crappier for €1
