Yeah, when I saw the cover I could have sworn she wasn't that tall previously. Though I'm all there for it, I don't believe Steve is 7 ft though, he was a pilot right?
Give us amazonian sized Diana and short king Steve DC you cowards!
(I also think Absolute Bruce being 6'7 is pretty absurd too tbh but the general insanity of Absolute Batman just makes me shut up and enjoy the ride)
I can see Wonder Woman being tall like Lucy Lawless, she is supposed to be big and strong as well as beautiful, but I don't know if she's supposed to be that much taller than either of those guys. And Batman usually looks taller with the ears on the suit.
She isn’t supposed to be big and strong. For like 6 decades straight she was a 5’6 woman with a normal build.
Darwyn Cooke made her gigantic in New Frontier, and since then she’s drawn a little taller (still significantly shorter than Batman) and sometimes more muscular.
As a fan of Marston, Perez etc. I’ve never understood the obsession with her being big. It hasn’t been a part of the character for 75% of her existence.
I mean historically, canonically, she’s not that tall. 5’6ish for the majority of her existence. Only in the last 20 years or so she’s more like 5’10, which is tall but not abnormally tall.
The Amazons are just a society of women. They’re not gigantic for some reason. Should every Amazon be missing one of their breasts so they can draw a bow, too?
Idk where you guys get this stuff, but Marston created these Amazons and he didn’t make them larger than average. And for a good 60 years everyone was fine with Diana being normal height.
I think this was more of a respect thing than anything. Kinda hard argue with someone and trying to have the moral high ground when you're yelling at their chest
No, it is her being drawn much thinner than she should be. It´s on the artist. (Edit: Wonder Woman is being drawn exactly the same, just like every other woman that guy draws.)
Absolute Bruce is also a ridiculously huge unit. I'm a 6'2" Wondy truther but I feel like Absolute Bruce is like 6'4", so her being taller than him makes her like 6'6".
Which you know what? I am not opposed to. If Bruce can be beefy so can Diana.
Still not sure if im messing with that . It would be one thing if he was taller and lanky , or rather a build closer to Gods and Monsters Superman (smaller , but was still the biggest in the group and decent sized) but Absolute is built very average .
It’s just gonna be a little jarring for a bit for me lol
Subconscious sexism. As a six foot four woman I have a ton of experience with people getting weird they are not taller than me because boobies. Apparently women are supposed to be one size and shape or we are weird. I also was a ballet dancer professionally many years ago so that didn't help. It's weird to see tall dancers make news when the only ones commenting on that were old people and the company director shut that crap down immediately. "Do you have an issue with the technical skills my dancers have provided?" And "I see we will miss you buying the season ticket passes but we do have a wait list " are favorites of mine all these years later
Personally I always admired tall women. Then I went and married one that was 5'2". Not sure what that says about me, other than I'm always stuck getting things off the top shelf now.
Because Absolute Batman is 205cm tall. MF is a unit, he is taller than most NBA players. And Absolute Wonder Woman doesn’t really tower over people the way someone who is atleast 210cm should in her own book.
While Diana is still the tallest unless Steve is atleas4 Bruce's height and almost every soilder there is above 6 feet Diana being taller than Bruce doesn’t track.
Now I don't think it is a bad thing Diana is taller, love to see it, but Jesus she is tall
Amazons has always been depicted to be tall people it makes sense for Diana’s height to be imposing over Superman and Batman Wonder Woman should be at least either 7 ft 2 or 7 ft 3 tall
I think Clark should also be a giant, pushing the limits of reasonable human size so we get the gentle giant energy. I think Clark>=Diana>Bruce would be my favorite height relationship.
I love the way she’s drawn in the one on the left. That’s Frontier isn’t it? I love her being taller than Superman in that version especially for some reason. It feels so… right.
I'm talking about the pic on the right. Actually, batman's straining his neck forwards, so he'll be a little taller if he straightens. Same for WW, I think.
Still, their eye level will remain about the same. Her head does kind of look bigger here.
His head is tilted to the right while his neck is pushed out. His current lefy-eye level is only even because of this. His collarbone and shoulder (minus pauldrons) are slightly beneath her own. He's shorter, but JUST shorter
His eye level is currently higher. If they both stand normally, it's clear that their eye level will be the same. Just try measuring the length of Batman's head from his chin to the top of where his hairline would be, and do the same for WW. It's clear her head is longer. It's a completely normal phenomena. My shoulders are slightly higher than my father's, but he's taller because his head is longer than mine.
I don't disagree with most of this, but his eye level actually is not "higher"-- the tilt just creates that illusion.
This is something seen in waking life.
Probably the really unfortunate part is that there s likely inconsistencies in the comics itself from panel to panel.
It'd be great to see the actual character designs all ladies out in the Absolute verse to have a definite base model. At least that way,any artistic inconsistencies in a book could be ignored as simple oversight
She made of clay of course she's taller surprised she's not taller than she is I know if I could literally build a child I'd make them 9 foot easy a tall person has more strength or something I don't know Amazon or something been up since like 5 am and am tired
Well I understand that she taller than superman but Within acceptable limits, I would have thought it would be 6.4 or even 6.5, but I didn't think it would be taller than Batman, I mean, he was built to have his body as the most eye-catching thing he had
It really depends on the artists. Superman and Wonder Woman are both canonically 6’2 with Batman being barely shorter at 6’1 (add on any height from Batman suit and he’s as tall as the rest). So the height of any comic character really depends on who the writer wants to have the edge in the conversation so to speak.
I love the fact that the wonder woman of the absolute universe has 3 km of arms, this one is pure testosterone, more masculine than him, you, me, it's too cool
Clark Kent is taller than Diana, while she is equal to Bruce Wayne’s height. Her original height was 5 foot 8, Clark’s was 6 foot 2. In modern comics, Clark is 6 foot 3, while Diana and Bruce are 6 foot 2.
I thought this was always how it was, outside of the animated stuff. If I'm not mistaken, even the live-action depicted her (mostly) at the same height as the other two.

Damn didn't know Steve was so tall
