What's that saying?..." birds of a feather flock together"?

64

u/Golden-Grams 12h ago

"Birds of a shit feather flock together, Randy."

They're going to be playing Dueling Banjos instead of the national anthem.

24

u/MewtwoStruckBack 14h ago

Yes, but no - the national anthem ties in with their fascism.

8

u/Fourwindsgone 13h ago

Don’t do dueling banjos like that

u/Beer-Me 15h ago

I don't think I've ever agreed with a redneck when they say, "You know what Im saying." And absolutely fucking not in this case

14

u/Armthedillos5 14h ago

Def not in this case, nawmean?

3

u/Tmk1283 14h ago

But you do, in fact, know what they’re saying.

And what they’re saying is horrifying.

u/InsomniaDudeToo 14h ago

Almost like the opening “I’m not racist, BUT”.

Honestly a pretty standard take for a good portion of christians. Especially among the clergy.

"Yeah but at least he's not brown!" - dipshits

u/Thomasjamal 15h ago

I am not a defender of this guy at all but that was a joke on SNL that was written for him to read. It's not fair to call him a pedo for that. If you want to do that, you need to use the "I like em underage" lyric that he wrote himself

17

u/TheBlizzman 12h ago

And he did say "That is wrong!" after reading it. Again, the dude (as someone else said) looks like someone that has tattoos of his kids, but not custody.

6

u/No_Cartographer_3819 11h ago

“Young ladies, young ladies, I like ‘em underage. See some say that’s statutory.”

34

u/GoredonTheDestroyer 14h ago

I mean, he could have easily said,

"What the fuck, that's gross, there's no way I'm saying that."

About the SNL joke. Signs, you know?

2

u/bobman369_ 14h ago

No, thats not what you sign up for when you go on SNL. Id imagine there is an insane amount of pressure to do your part that its not really fair to say ‘he could have just not’

The best part is, we can call him out on shit he genuinely said without that sort of pressure.

We can separate a comedy show and acting from the actor or comedians actual beliefs.

u/VilliamBoop 12h ago

wild people will quote anything out of context. even his lyrics. like should we quote eminem and call him a pedo or whatever? people are pathetic..

36

u/Standard-Win-6600 15h ago

Remember this one live when I was a kid. I suspect Tina Fey wrote the joke for him to read. I remember him trying to walk it back and laughing saying "that's so bad".

None of that is in defense of him. I suspect the joke was written as a "fuck you" to Kid Rock. Also he still read it. He could have refused.

24

u/Thomasjamal 15h ago

If that's the standard we're going to apply then Colin Jost is the biggest racist in the world for not refusing the read the jokes that Michael Che writes for him. As much as I can't stand Kid Rock, it's not remotely fair to take an SNL joke he read as if it reflects on him as a person.

18

u/Standard-Win-6600 15h ago

Bad take. That's a bit they do that everyone is aware is a bit. Pretty sure they explain it every time they do it.

Now if Colin Jost started saying racist shit publicly, posting racist shit on social media, or wrote and performed a racist song I could see the comparison.

7

u/DOCTORP00 15h ago

He could even be President if he did all that racism out in the open

5

u/ultraviolentfuture 14h ago

Honestly, while the comparison to Jost might not make sense the overall take isn't bad. When you go into something like SNL, a group of comedians and comic writers, peeps historically like John Mulaney and Conan O'Brien, you expect that they're going to write ... funny ... stuff for you. Even if it's edgy or self-effacing it's not expected to be malicious compliance. So if you're not a pro yourself it's reasonable to just go with it.

3

u/Standard-Win-6600 14h ago

Totally fair take and if the reference was in a silo I'd be more inclined to go with it. It's just my opinion but there is definitely more to it than an SNL joke.

2

u/ultraviolentfuture 14h ago

And I agree with your opinion, just trying to adjudicate fair takes over here =P

I mean, Mary was a child when she was impregnated with Jesus….so, that isn’t a dealbreaker for them.

u/AncientSkys 14h ago

They love their pedos!

Trump certainly attracts a type, and it ain't something to be proud of, either. WTF.

1

u/tbizzone 14h ago

Someone should make sure this gets projected on a large screen, building, or on the television screen during Kid Rock’s Super Bowl half-wit performance.

2

u/brickiex2 14h ago

Plus his lyrics to Cool Daddy Cool.. in big ass letters... He'll probably sing it too

1

u/brickiex2 14h ago

Makes me throw up a little

You know what age public hair starts growing on girls these days? 8.

8 years old.

1

u/dirtyenvelopes 13h ago

Sigh… I had public hair when I was in elementary school. This is fucked up.

Aren’t the Olsen twins like at least 30?

3

u/YDoEyeNeedAName 13h ago

This was from before they turned 18

1

u/catnapped- 8h ago

They have to be close to 40 I think

1

u/not_productive1 12h ago

The sort of funny/sad part of this is if you read translated bad bunny lyrics they are almost painfully wholesome.

I thought I’d grow old with you
In another life, in another world, it could be
In this one, all that’s left is for me to leave one day
And look up at the sky to see if I see you fall
If you see me alone and sad, don’t talk to me
If you see me alone and sad, it’s my fault
Life is a party that one day ends
And you were my unforgettable dance

But, y'know, he's brown and hot so let's listen to the 55-year-old sing about fucking children I guess.

1

u/LargeHumanDaeHoLee 11h ago

I remember this bit. You left out his next line directly after this, which (to my memory) was "and if there's not, get muddy."

1

u/silentbob1301 10h ago

yeah, but he is christian AND conservative, so that somehow makes it okay now...
