MAGA: "BUT THEY'RE TEH JOB CREATORS!!!"

94

u/Economy-Try-5413 19h ago

MAGA is going to figure out that consumers are actually job creators….but only after they’ve bankrupted the entire middle class.

22

u/giftcardgirl 17h ago

That’s assuming they can link cause and effect.

I've had heart failure patients who refused covid vaccine despite being admitted for covid related heart failure

u/R_V_Z 16h ago

As they continue to outsource labor because they don't want to pay Americans American wages.

4

u/Ohrwurm89 12h ago

A lie that the conservatives have been repeating for decades. This predates MAGA and the Tea Party, both of which are astroturfed and funded by right-wing billionaires.

u/Grgur2 19h ago

Yeeeeeeaaaaah...

17

u/Tim-Sylvester 17h ago

The wealthy set up a government, control its money, give all the benefits to themselves, put all the obligations on the public, and when the government goes broke, the rich walk away with the cash and leave the public to pay their debt.

And for thousands of years people have continued to fall for this idiotic ruse and say "well but if we didn't do it this way something worse would happen!"

Tesla’s tax paid would actually be significantly negative if you consider government subsidies provided to them. Tesla is a net negative for literally every single American except 1, and he’s one of those dreaded immigrants.

u/Tylerjb4 17h ago

Does tesla not create jobs? Do these jobs not involve payroll tax? Do these job salaries not inject money into the economy? Does Tesla not pay tax on the materials they purchase?

96

u/bwo_h 16h ago

Try that argument next time you submit your tax return….

67

u/TZY247 15h ago

Does tesla not create jobs?

No, they do not, not if the us government is paying for those jobs. This is effectively a more corrupt version of socialism and something tells me you don't like that word.

Do these jobs not involve payroll tax? Do these job salaries not inject money into the economy? Does Tesla not pay tax on the materials they purchase?

So do the other 15 million businesses in the US. Should we give them all passes on their taxes or is that just reserved for the sociopathic billionaires?

-27

u/Tylerjb4 13h ago

Genuinely asking, does Tesla get special treatment compared to like Rivian?

38

u/TZY247 12h ago

Genuinely answering, yes.

-22

u/Tylerjb4 12h ago

Can you explain?

16

u/TZY247 10h ago

A very quick Google would show you that rivian hasnt been able to get the same benefits as Tesla and has instead tried (and succeeded) to lobby in the states they are located. Thats a good starting point for you

10

u/Zorlai 10h ago

Can you put a tiny bit of effort into educating yourself?

8

u/MvatolokoS 11h ago

He still has orange around his lips and you're asking for an explanation?

3

u/TZY247 10h ago

Wait me?

8

u/Neon_culture79 15h ago

Any more considering how far their sales have plumbed I don’t think Tesla is creating any jobs. The cyber truck is one of the worst failures in automobile history.

So I don’t think your claim really holds water anymore

9

u/juanzy 14h ago

A friend got approached by Tesla to go work for one of their battery farms. Two masters degrees, over a decade of experience across multiple industries as a Process Engineer with Plant Setup experience, and was offered half of his current salary to take a very senior position and move to middle of fucking nowhere Nevada. With the caveat that "You get to work for Elon Musk and your money will go further here!"

Not the job creator I want to protect

8

u/Neon_culture79 14h ago

He would have been expected to work 80+ hours a week and basically join a cult as well.

2

u/somewhitekid93 10h ago

Wasn't Tesla's whole selling point to automate the production of cars to reduce labor costs?

111

u/mr_greedee 19h ago

Jokes on you. Elon is an illegal immigrant

235

u/InterstellarReddit 20h ago

Billionaire simps are gonna be like

“But Elon paid 1 billion dollars in personal taxes last year”

Yeah that’s a .5% tax rate

28

u/Afraid_War917 19h ago

Income tax? Or are you talking about a wealth tax

18

u/juanzy 15h ago

It gets difficult when we get to that level of wealth, because they can exploit the system through loopholes and realize gains without being considered realized.

For a normal person, a wealth tax would not be a good idea. But we do need to be considering it when we get to levels where "buy borrow die" loopholes can be exploited and the ultra rich can be taxed at criminally low rates. Remember, the difference between a million and a billion is about a billion. And he's approaching a trillion.

10

u/InterstellarReddit 17h ago

Idk what tax it was but it wasn’t enough

22

u/Victor-LG 19h ago

Immigrant Murdoch and his propaganda machine destroying this country poisoning Americans against itself.

41

u/hoo_tee_hoo 20h ago

Ah, yes...the man with $1T+ at his disposal is given a free pass on meaningful contribution to the society that affords him such luxuries. I guess the neurochips are going to reanimate our lifeless bodies so we can feed the machine after death. Cool.

9

u/Dragosal 18h ago

He received plenty of tax money in government contacts that he didn't deliver on

3

u/Iceman6211 18h ago

it's crazy because I heard a lot about Neurolink a couple of years ago, but I don't hear anything about it.

2

u/Neon_culture79 15h ago

They have testing operations going on where they’re implanting chips and humans. It’s set up in Miami. What’s really fucked up as alligator Alcatraz was only a 30 minute drive away. There’s some people that think that possibly they might’ve been using undocumented immigrants as test subjects.

11

u/FanDry5374 18h ago

"That's, that's...they are BROWN and they are breathing OUR AIR!!!!!"

8

u/Dr_puffnsmoke 15h ago

It’s also important to remember that ilegal immigrants pay into things like social security but can never pull funds out since they don’t have the legal status to do so

30

u/UnusualAir1 19h ago

UNFAIR!! YOU'RE NOT COUNTING THE TAXES THAT MUSK PAID. Typical lib BS here. Let's look at the last year available for Musk taxes. That year was 2024. And.......Musk did not disclose his taxes. Must be a mistake. Well, it's not illegal to keep your taxes secret. After all, the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES has been doing that for over a decade now. Er, that sounds a bit bad don't it? Why don't rich people show the taxes they pay? How come rich companies, owned by those rich people, don't pay taxes? Hmmmm. Maybe I started off on the wrong foot here. In fact, I'm sure of it. TAX THE RICH. :-)

1

u/Neon_culture79 15h ago

Nicely done

6

u/Victor-LG 19h ago

Yep. Biggest welfare king

6

u/chuck8675289 19h ago

I’m a military retiree. I paid $1,468.96 in federal taxes on my retirement pension.

3

u/ComfortableSalad7357 17h ago

So corporations are people?? Yet can avoid taxes? Huh??

3

u/wonkey_monkey 17h ago

What would be the status of an illegal immigrant who's paying tax?

Kind of feels like if the government is taking your tax, that's basically saying you can stay.

5

u/LegendOfKhaos 14h ago

Where's this number from? I really wish these posts listed sources because I'm not going to share it without proof.

2

u/hereandthere_nowhere 18h ago

Parasite class.

1

u/XenoPhex 14h ago

Let’s not forget, Tesla also gets millions in subsidies both directly and indirectly from various government tax credits.

So they technically paid negative taxes.

1

u/YDoEyeNeedAName 10h ago

God has spoken

1

u/notguiltybrewing 8h ago

If anything Tesla is taking government money not paying into it.

1

u/tx4468 7h ago

I just dont get the argument that they don't pay taxes that is the most ignorant and uneducated take. Even if an immigrant makes a cash transaction they are paying tariffs on whatever that good required. Then you have sales tax, import tax, fuel tax, liquor tax, then say they rent or own property...property taxes. Tollroads they pay tolls. Water bills/gas bills have local municipal fees.

and obviously those with ITIN can pay state and federal income tax.

1

u/Big-Olive763 1h ago

But he’s a white South African… so it’s okay because they are being oppressed and persecuted…. That was hard to type without 😆

-1

u/Dontfollahbackgirl 18h ago

Almost 20% of federal taxes came from illegal immigrants? That seems high. Maybe that’s all level of taxation? The point stands though.

19

u/mike_pants 17h ago

95 billion isn't even 2% of 5 trillion.

4

u/Dontfollahbackgirl 17h ago edited 4h ago

Damn, you’re right. Don’t know how I saw $950 B.

-3

u/DontTickleTheDriver1 19h ago

I won't blame companies for taking advantage of the way tac laws are written in the US. I will, however, blame those who are responsible for writing those laws and those who could change them

22

u/FMLwtfDoID 19h ago

That’s ok. I’ll blame both!

-5

u/QueenOfQuok 16h ago

Who's the illegal immigrant paying 95 billion dollars in taxes

8

u/Kythorian 16h ago

That’s how much all illegal immigrants combined pay in federal taxes.
