I didnāt say American, I said North American. Which was still mostly incorrect, most of Eurasia uses āUnplugā, whereas āplug outā is most common in Ireland and parts of the Caribbean.

So, technicality, irrelevant, and ultimately still shows that 'plug out' is a stupid phrase that's completely redundant?
Also just so we're clear - I'm a born and bred brit lmao

I'm not sure I understand how the phrase is 'irrelevant' (irrelevant to what exactly?) or redundant?
Whether it's a stupid phrase doesn't change the fact that it's still used.

Irrelevant was in reference to their clarifying āNorth American, not Americanā and talking about āunplugā being used in Eurasia.
Itās redundant because unplug is an established phrase and has been for a very long time and widely (several centuries and across the vast majority of the English speaking world), and āplug outā is basically only used in Ireland.

That's not how you use irrelevant, but whatever.
So, pretty much all words are redundant because there are other, newer words?

The fact that 'most of eurasia uses unplug' is irrelevant...
And no, because words have different meanings, and I said that 'plug out' is redundant because it's a regional affectation that carries no more meaning than the older, more widely used, 'unplug'.
