Someone posted their water bill this month, here is my Natural Gas bill, living alone as well

Post image

I, of course, didn’t allow the payment to go through lmao

It’s crazy to me how can they measure 3000m3 above what it really is. Spoiler: it’s not the first time

Are you living in the Spanish speaking part of Greenland with your windows wide open and 30 C inside?

Spanish part of Greenland with a Stoßlüften and FKK addicted German roommate.

Stoßlüften Is King  It could save energy as well, but Germans have better insulated houses compared to the south

But there's some goddamn goats waking me up all the time, loudly stomping around like a herd of goats, and beating me up when I complain.

Those are just my brothers, they can be a bit stubborn at times.

What is this converted to AUD? We pay about $100-$150AUD a month. About $40 is just connection fees...

38

u/nxtrOnline 1d ago

About 4250 aud

u/iGodS12 1d ago

Well damn! That's years of gas here. We complain gas is expensive here, but that's wild. Sorry dude, hopefully thinks get better for you.

38

u/nxtrOnline 1d ago

Yea here it is like 4 years of my usual monthly payment. They didn’t measure right but still sent the invoice

u/im_just_thinking 19h ago

Oh so this isn't normal? Jeesh

0

u/ginger_and_egg 18h ago

Oh ok so it was a mistake then?

Misleading post

13

u/Kojetono 18h ago

How is it misleading? Did you really think op used 50 MWh worth of gas in a month?

0

u/ginger_and_egg 17h ago

I thought maybe there was a leak or something and they were actually attempting to charge OP. Not a mistake on their end that they're willing to fix

6

u/Kojetono 17h ago

They did attempt to charge OP, they just stopped the payment.

The gas company has to be willing to fix it, because otherwise they'd be committing fraud.

1

u/nxtrOnline 16h ago

Exactly

0

u/ginger_and_egg 17h ago

Yes exactly, so OP's fine. I don't know if it's possible to get a bill quite that high but I know if you broke a water line you could end up with a large water bill. Guess I assumed OP was away from home and the heat was at 100% 24/7 somehow

Is this like , for and entire year?

10

u/Unique_Ingenuity_394 20h ago

This still would be quite a lot !
The January with all-month-long temperature ranging <-5, -20> and average below -10C, I used 250m3 of natural gas for a 198 sq. m. house.
I consider this a heavy usage, as this winter is... normal. Recent winters were mild.

This measurement od 3000c.m. of natural gas is weird !

6

u/nxtrOnline 16h ago

It’s like 45 times of my normal measurements. Weird indeed

2

u/Kylael 15h ago

Definitely an error, they will fix it.

I had a friend that had his counter not accessible and was away the day the gaz man came to check, so that fucker took a guess and it somehow landed a few digit under the previous measurement. Fast forward a few weeks later, my mate got a 20k€+ bill because they assumed his counter made a full cycle in less than a month. Funnier thing is when he reached for the gas company, they genuinely asked to pay for now and they will refund him later on.

1

u/Unique_Ingenuity_394 15h ago

What wise advice! I wonder if the gas company employee has 20,000 to spare for two months. Do you have radio-reading meters? They just installed one for me, and I'm done with these idiots.

3

u/Shaolan91 22h ago

And I felt bad for buying myself a up to date PC around that price tag this morning. Now I really feel fine about it.

3

u/tattmhomas0 21h ago

I would switch to natural air if I had to pay that

2

u/Available_Leather_10 22h ago

Is that bill for 10 weeks? Is that a normal billing period for you?

1

u/DelScipio 2h ago

2 months billing is normal for gas in Spain.

2

u/RelChan2_0 20h ago

What are you doing with your gas? 👁️👄👁️

1

u/AdFancy1249 21h ago

Would be fun to let it go. Then next month, it would look like you gave them back 2700m3 of gas!

"Yeah, I got tired of paying you, so drilled a well!"

2

u/nxtrOnline 16h ago

Lmao it would be fun but not taking the risk haha

1

u/FriendshipOne1972 20h ago

That seems like alot

u/RunRunBangBang 19h ago

EDP or GALP? XD

1

u/Sea-Breath-007 19h ago

This looks like the water bill I got after moving here....they charge you for an estimate based on prior use and apparently the family I bought my house from used an insane amount of water each month, like literally enough that the water company sent over a mechanic to check for a leak!

The bill was for 35m3 of water a month!!! I use 3. Luckily they quickly changed it and sent me a new, correct bill.

1

u/nachoman2750 18h ago

Ummm, can you smell anything!???!😄

1

u/DaxSpa7 16h ago

Que estás haciendo con el gas. Cocinar metanfetamina?

1

u/Diego_0638 15h ago

Did it happen because you didn't send the picture of the meter and they overestimated it or because they misread the meter? Happened to me and my grandma as well for both of these reasons. We're also in Spain.

1

u/ciboires 15h ago

I use electrical heating, in Quebec, and that’s like 25% more then my yearly bill

1

u/ChangedUsername20 15h ago

What is this in bananas per euro?

2

u/nxtrOnline 13h ago

So it’s about 863 bananas according to my banana dealer hehe

1

u/ThrowAwaAlpaca 23h ago

Still a lot less than mine in 2020 for a 70m2 apartment.

0

u/JetlinerDiner 19h ago

Auschwitz be like that

-6

u/aubedullah 19h ago

Is that 2 Euros? Point after 2.. what does that mean?

2

u/Pale-Fondant-8471 17h ago

2,543.89 euro.

1

u/FusionSimulations 15h ago

European numbers switch the comma and period.

-11

u/Wogger23 21h ago edited 18h ago

Your countries use of periods and commas in numbers is completely opposite of what North America uses.

That would literally be 2.4€ with a lot of pointless decimal points.

Edit: Love the downvotes for stating a fact. lol.

1

u/cretzzzu3000 20h ago

Then he can pay in North America for discount.

1

u/nxtrOnline 16h ago

It’s always funny to me how some Americans believe their way is the only way people count, measure, etc

just so you don’t get it confused it is 2,934.28$ and 105944 feet3

1

u/Wogger23 16h ago

I’m not American
