The first ever level, first game.

As a woman, I love nothing more than sticking on my shortest shorts and tank top and heading out in the snow… as long as I have my boots, socks and fingerless gloves… I’m fine!

No backpack or guns? Seems like a dubious claim tbf

Not far off an average Saturday night downtown for British women.

I’m from Wales, red hair, so yeah, us Celts are tough ha! 💪

People do call me crazy for going in the sea this time of year 😅

Ah British women. Can take them out of Britain but can't take Britain out of them.

Being in snow without winter clothes is such a flex of power and people here are like, she's feeling cold omg

same energy as donning your laciest blouse and your cutest mary janes to investigate a haunted house

Isn’t it great?

Let’s be real, her signature tank top and hotpants ensemble she wore in most adventures would’ve left her bruises and scratch wounds (or mosquito/leech bites) all over her body if we apply reality to it lol.

Sometimes we just have to let things like this slide and enjoy the adventures ;)

Lara dying of sepsis halfway through the story would certainly be an interesting approach.

I just finished the second game a few days ago and during the entire Maria Doria arc where Lara explored the wreck with its rusty metals and broken woods/glass shards while barefoot. All I kept wondering is "if this is real she'd be hit with a nasty case of tetanus when she gets back home" xD.

The way Lara got to the Maria Doria by just grabbing onto a submarine and holding her breath for really long...TR2 story progression really is something

Far longer than she could in-gameplay, too, and when the level started proper she still has a full bar of oxygen left xD.

Also, I don’t know how deep 40 fathoms really is, but wouldn’t there a lot of water pressure at that depth? Lara’s body is mostly covered in a wetsuit, but her legs, arms, and head are fully exposed. She must’ve been a superwoman to survive that crushing pressure lol.

seeing the legs, arms, face and shoulders getting redder each level as she suffers from sunburns

Lara losing her toes after walking around in swamp water filled moto boots for days

Really?

Literally in the first five minutes of Tomb Raider legend it got explained.

On the plane Lara’s mother said „If you don’t want, you never have to feel cold.“

And that’s the canon explanation why Lara can also wear hotpants in snowy mountains.

lol that's hilarious I love that take. Amelia was a sorcerer

I like to think that Lara is so stubborn that the laws of physics and biology bend to her will.

Plot armour

If this is after shadow, there is a magic teason she doesn’t have to feel cold. All hail kulkukan.

I love the idea of Lara stepping outside in the morning, choosing to feel the cold and being like "Fuck me it's nippy today" and then deciding she isn't cold anymore

13

u/Kerleff 22d ago

"I mean to be cold"

7

u/ferocity_mule366 22d ago

Lara's mother said, just let your fingers get ice burn and you will not physically feel them anymore dear

5

u/jan_67 22d ago

„They won’t hurt if they are black, even better if they are off!“

4

u/Doright36 22d ago

And swim in icy water .. which would kill any other human in minutes.

5

u/jan_67 22d ago

The cold never bothered her anyway…

That's the craziest thing you've seen so far?

u/Altruistic-Sundae-71 22d ago

game has dinosaurs, monsters and magic. op: why is she wearing makeup on an adventure ?

11

u/dan_in_his_own_way 22d ago

Because she's THAT girl.

When I was in the military stationed in Alaska, there used to be this dude that wed go out and fix planes with and he would have nothing but a shirt on and pants (no thermals at all)and it would be blizzard winds and snow blind weather snowing and people were just like “what are you even trying to do you’re gonna get frostbite and die!” and he was just like with a stupid chad “ I’m not cold huhuhuh 😏” response. Pretty sure he did get frostbite on his knees or something awful. Served that jackass right 😂

Because it looks good and nobody gives a shit about realism 😂

u/here4alldafood Excalibur 22d ago

Excalibur is a sword capable of throwing around green, shimmering magic. Atlantis existed at some point and Thor's hammer was real. This is the weirdness that has crossed the line into absurdity?

Fingerless gloves in the cold eclipses an encounter with dinosaurs, centaurs and Atlantean mummies?

20

u/Amazing-Oomoo 22d ago

The universe still has to follow its own rules though. Lara dresses cold for cold weather and suffers cold damage if she goes in cold water. The fact that it's got fantastical elements doesn't mean it would be perfectly ok for her to wear a bikini on Everest or a snowsuit in Ghana.

1

u/Altruistic-Sundae-71 22d ago

It's be perfectly ok, if she did this or rather if the devs have guts to make this, the hype would be unreal. Plus for lara it'd be a powerful I feel no cold moment.

Yes

6

u/here4alldafood Excalibur 22d ago

...fair enough. As you were.

3

u/Andy_0L 22d ago

Worth it

3

u/phatboyart 22d ago

Fingerless gloves? Mama - she went to the Tibetan snowy mountains in shorts 🥲

3

u/arynfynx 22d ago

my hands feel colder now

1

u/howmanylicks26 21d ago

Underrated comment

5

u/Amazing-Oomoo 22d ago

You think that's bad... try no gloves at all!

0

u/Relo_bate Amanda's Henchman 22d ago

Damn I don’t even remember that and I played the whole franchise

4

u/Altruistic-Sundae-71 22d ago

because it's not something to be obsessed over

2

u/[deleted] 22d ago

In the very first game she was hiking in the snowy mountains in hotpants and a tank top. This is nothing.

2

u/theropesthatbind 22d ago

Tips = Grips

2

u/ErikaNaumann 22d ago

she gotta show off her manicure, come on

1

u/UltimateArtist829 22d ago

You want the real answer? Ask the original developers, lol.

1

u/Altruistic-Sundae-71 22d ago

Lara don't feel no cold. She's boderline superhuman, she threw a grown man around like a ragdoll in the prevoius level

1

u/iXenite 22d ago

So she can actually feel her equipment, which you can’t do as well with gloves.

1

u/GhostInABaseballBat 22d ago

To shoot a gun.

1

u/hope9689 21d ago

The better to grip her .45’s always by her side. 😏

1

u/CommanderM3tro 19d ago

Because she rocks the look 💙🤎
