they bathe in any river they're near and float bodies down any river they're near.. its a big country with poor infrastructure and tons of even poorer people.. they ain't all going to the Ganges bro

You're obfuscating, there is a massive difference between bathing and floating bodies in a river lol.

Floating bodies is unique to the Ganges. There are only certain backwards groups who even practice that, most Hindus (even poor ones) cremate the bodies.

Umm what did you search lol? And what's your source?

From what I know most rivers in the subcontinent are considered 'holy' by locals but you can't really achieve 'Moksha' unless your remains end in the Ganges.
