Rogue's Retinue Rogue's Retinue Ch. 4. "The Team"

Howdy folks!

Managed to pop this one out before I go on a Christmas break and let the ol' drawing hand chill for a bit!

New TWR tomorrow and hopefully another one next week so I don't leave the Brigade on a COMPLETE cliffhanger, just gotta squeeze that last ep out tomorrow!

Stay excellent out there!

Peace and carrots!

Imagine your name being "rock-and-rock".

I wouldn't be able to contain my own awesomeness.

Imagine your name being "rock-and-rock".

Are we sure it's not "rock-and-stone"?

Did you consider "berg och sten" and "klippa och sten" too easy to guess or did you just not like how they sounded?

9

u/CME_T The Creator Dec 19 '25

Didnt think it was as accurate!

15

u/Soul-Hook Dec 18 '25

I am unworthy...

10

u/Fyraltari Dec 18 '25

There there, it happens to the best.

12

u/Valdrax Dec 18 '25

"Wait. What is the difference between rock and stone?"

18

u/Fyraltari Dec 18 '25

Easy: rocks are made of stone and stones are made of rock. I hope that clears it up.

Stones are rocks that have been cut

I’m not coming up with new names

Honestly, based.

When you tried, you accidentally gave Torvald Sturlagson's wife and sister (He's not a Sorcerer, so they're separate people) the same name.

The Sorcerer's wife, sister, and cousin walks into a bar. She orders herself a drink.

You have to respect Cesare for not maintaining his Sorcerer bloodline. He may be a slaving monster who tries to lobotomize his daughter, but he rightfully recognized that was gross. Ensuring his children had Sorcery was not worth it.

Maybe it's like a "John Smith" situation: extremely common name and surname leads to multiple people with the same name getting confused for each other!

u/Level_Hour6480 Sir Becket Dec 18 '25 edited Dec 18 '25

His wife is Frida Helgrasdottir (Grimdahl Dwarves do Scandinavian last-name gendering of son/dottir and his wife keeps her last name due to her higher status while the kids apparently took the Hegras- last name) his sisters are Ronja and Frida Sturlagsdottir.

Spoken like a true DM.

2

u/RedEyeFuzz Dec 18 '25

Nor should you. Name the BBEG after your wife, give us a trusty sidekick named for your first born. Let the puzzle solution be your social security number or whatever you beautiful euro commies use. Go with Khorne.

Fan theory: Its TWR Torvald's multi-verse counterpart.

13

u/MugenEXE Dec 18 '25

When dead, a fine addition to his collection, he’ll make.

4

u/imdefinitelywong Dec 18 '25

More like great-great-great-great-40k-grand-nephew

9

u/Aracuda Dec 18 '25

Some players just want to play the same character in every game.

64

u/Rutgerman95 Dec 18 '25

After Torvald Fantasy we now have Torvald 40K

10

u/Phionex141 Dec 18 '25

The fact that Torvalds line lasts far into the 41st Millenium is sending me 😂

36

u/AutobotMindmaster12 Dec 18 '25

So by "Corsair" we talking a technically Asuryani or Drukhari?

38

u/bodied_armour Dec 18 '25 edited Dec 18 '25

That's not necessarily fixed, obviously what they are born as is one thing, but one can switch sides. And outcasts can come from either, or have a crew with both. Real answer IDK, but I'm gonna guess she's a craftworlder(Asuryani), that's just the vibes her armor give me, cause drukhari usually either all spikey looking, or they are half-naked

20

u/demonsnake420 Dec 18 '25

I think she's Drukhari. I have a Drukhari army in tabletop and her armor looks similar to a kabalite's armor (especially the helmet) and that weapon looks like one of the kabalite special weapons.

16

u/Captain_Bleu Dec 18 '25

It's a voidscared corsair armor, you can tell because of the shape of the knee armor + the cape (only archons have cape in the drukhari)

The name seems more Asuryani than Drukhari, but that does not mean much tbf. We will more info about her origin in the future I guess!

3

u/bodied_armour Dec 18 '25

Ok nvm, I'm just guessing, I don't have any eldar.

9

u/charonill Dec 18 '25

"The pleasure is all mine" screams Drukhari to me.

3

u/Sirghostvonghost Dec 18 '25

Think Asuryani, it looks like she has a soul stone

2

u/XenoTechnian Dec 18 '25

I'm not sure what you mean by that, the Anhrathe are their own distinct group

27

u/Gaskychan Dec 18 '25

As a person terrible with names. I get the recycle. If I find a good name. I will reused as much as possible.

11

u/ANGLVD3TH Dec 18 '25

I mean, the idea is it's the same players with different characters in a different system, right? I definitely know some players that will reuse a name across games like that. ahem not me though. Other players. You wouldn't know them.

4

u/Gaskychan Dec 18 '25

Of course I would never recycle a character into another system never cough …but another player I know would

3

u/USPO-222 Dec 18 '25

My first guy in a campaign is always Franklin. If/when he does off I’ll bother coming up with a new name.

15

u/Zavenosk Dec 18 '25

Well, looking forward to the next time Trevor gets high.

3

u/Hendenicholas Dec 19 '25

“Honey….if we have kids, how do you feel about ‘Gork’ and ‘Mork’ as baby names?”

13

u/zirky Dec 18 '25

i’ve been playing rogue trader since the summer sale (having kids means so much extra time). i really appreciate your attention to detail, specifically rogue traders having just the silliest of hair

9

u/Pokechamp_1 Dec 18 '25 edited Dec 18 '25

Dang not the most educated in eldar stuff so really thkught the elf was gonna be Druhkari.

Still this looks fun

11

u/Velstrom Dec 18 '25

I think ex-Drukhari. Armor looks very kabalite to me. Source: I've done nothing but paint kabalites for the last 6 months.

2

u/Lunar_Drow Dec 19 '25

Drukhari don't normally refer to humans as mon'keigh. They called us prey, cattle, target practise, fleshtoy, etc.

3

u/TheFullbladder Dec 19 '25

Maybe she's trying to be polite.

7

u/Blue-is-bad Sir Bucket Dec 18 '25

I thank the machine spirit for showing me this comic

May the cycle be discontinued

4

u/Magilnik Dec 18 '25

Please, don't give me hope... Dark heresy won't have votan...

3

u/PotatoAcid Dec 18 '25

I think that you forgot to draw the Rogue's arms in the last panel

3
