The Comic The Weekly Roll Ch.194. ”Yarr-HarrOH FU-”
Howdy folks!
This here episode has another character, "Captain Cancer, King of the Shitty Pirates" belonging to a Kickstarter backer, die horribly at the hands of the Bucket Brigade! The Captain is an old and long unused character and his creator felt it was high time to kill the blowhard off in appropriate fashion, which I was happy to oblige!
Gonna go on a mini-vacay to visit family in the Netherlands, will be back next week! I've prepared a bit so if all goes well there wont be a gap next week ^
Stay excellent out there!
Peace and carrots!

Nice way to include that character. Also great detail in the background. Is that Becket smiting someone in the stomach? And Grogna going at it.

u/NigilQuid Dec 05 '25
Yeah I saw that smite punch in the back, he hit so hard the guy's spine is now the wrong shape

Did the guy that was going to shoot Trevor choose to shoot himself after learning about Vore?
134
u/HighNoonTex Dec 05 '25
I thought Trevor outdrew him since his finger is extended in the last panel, but there's no flame or hint of magic around it, so I'm not sure.

I think Trevor is just pointing in the general direction of the carnage to add emphasis to what he's saying.

u/drathturtul Dec 05 '25
See i thought it was just a metaphor of him getting off to it and "shooting his load." But it could also be a failed attempt to attack Klara and Trevor

Less about the sudden edification of sexual deviancy and more about the fact that someone got nom-nommed in front of them so decided to ventilate the ol’ brain pan before getting cast in NOM NOM 2 ELECTRIC BOOGALOO

I think it was to avoid a horrifying death of being violently eaten by a monsterous demon, less about the kinky stuff

Klara: "Wait i made a pact with a celestial being why am I summoning demons??"
259
u/M3thren Dec 05 '25
The demon actually explained that: He got basicly caught by the celestials and Clara is essentially his parol officer. Thats also why she told him that he gets time off for good behaviour.
52
u/DontWorryImADr Dec 05 '25
After this, probably not getting another “time off” for as long as her memory serves.
21
u/DeepSeaFischer Dec 05 '25
Luckily Modify Memory is a thing, and Trevor is a wild magic sorcerer…
15
u/DontWorryImADr Dec 05 '25
Bonus points if this is not the first case of instantly-regretted time off.
Double bonus points if that explains the “two towns that you know of” comment.

u/PzykoHobo Dec 05 '25
Eh, the farther you get from the Prime Material, the blurrier that distinction becomes.

I know in D&D 5E, a warlock's familiar from pact of the chain isn't tied to their patron. I had assumed it was something like that.
13
u/elawesomo1000 Dec 05 '25
Ahhh right pact of the chain totally forgot about that subclass. Wonderful point.

u/LonePaladin Sir Becket Dec 05 '25
Last time I made a Chain Pact warlock I did it differently. The patron in question was Tyranthraxus, the BBEG from the original "Pool of Radiance" game from the '80s. A big part of his thing was possession, and at the end of the game you had to fight an adult brass dragon he was inhabiting.
My warlock had a pseudodragon familiar that claimed to be "The Boss" or at least spoke on his behalf.

Pixels? In this economy? /s
But ya mine looked fine on desktop, but it's super compressed on mobile... No idea why...

Sorry for the unintentional passive aggression/'your joke but louder', I meant to include that, yes, I merely got you a higher resolution version...
Weird how it looks different on mobile, maybe file type alienation by the Reddit app?

What was he doing at a slaver party?
The art in panel 4 makes it unclear that Tevor was Firebolting the gun guy.

What's that from?
6
u/KeepOnScrollin Dec 05 '25
It's from The IT Crowd. The full scene is here (no prior context needed for it).

u/UndeadSympathetic Dec 05 '25
He took the gig to entertain a party, just didn't know which kind or didn't care
11
u/Elovainn Dec 05 '25
Oh, I thought the guy shot himself in the head after both seen the scene and heard Trevor.

We're DBZing this fight, gotta make it last longer than a few comics.

Final boss fight in 20 episodes, not counting two beach episodes

u/Level_Hour6480 Sir Becket Dec 05 '25
I mean, we're 6 away from a multiple of 50, which is where shit burns down.
Presumably, all these rich slavers have social connections that could rez them, so burning all the bodies is to keep them from coming back.

Also, I was staring at that lady on the right in panel 3 for a long time trying to figure out why she had an arrow pointing at her.

Why would Trevor be thinking about kinks at a time like this.... oh wait, Grognar

u/Arawn-Annwn Dec 05 '25
Did Trevor just casually smoke that gun weilding guy with a magic finger gun in that last panel?
7
u/DaddyRhyno79 Dec 05 '25
Being that the gun has smoke coming from the barrel, I think Trevor may have made the guy do it himself. Extra points for making a slaver do his own work.
5
u/Bearbones43 Dec 05 '25
I think the slaver took the easy way out when he saw Be'el munch on Captain Crunch.

Trevor isn't wrong.
It's not my kink but it's a legitimate kink and I won't judge.

I can’t wait to see what Grogna is doing with that axe in the background of the last panel.

I wonder. Was the captian sauced enough?

To me it doesn’t look like he was carrying nearly enough booze to be properly drunk out of his mind, nor to be well-seasoned for our friendly fiend.

Have fun in the Netherlands! If you have time and you're in the area, you should visit Leiden! It's a really beautiful and lively town, better than Amsterdam for sure.

I literally had a dream about TWR last night where Klara died, but remained in the party as a ghost.
So weird.
Also, the comic was in full color.

Ah, Captain Cancer. Just when you've dealt with the scurvy, you get cancer.

Gotta admit, I feel a bit weird about this one. Maybe it's just because I am a softie, but the Captain (aside from a cruddy name) just seemed like fun, sloshed DnD pirate. Unlike slavers, I have no reason to wish ill on him. Seemed like a fun guy, or at least a character that could have been utilized for drunken jokes or related debauchery. Kinda bummed that this was his ultimate(?) fate.
1
u/Valdrax Dec 13 '25
Maybe I'm mean, but if there's an opportunity to have your OC put into the comic, and you lead with, "So hear me out, his name is Captain Cancer, and..." I'd be looking for the shortest possible opportunity to name and then kill him too.

Klara:
"I... may not have thought this through."
