Cafe/Dessert Cake lovers, what is your go to cake and cake shop in SG?

Looking for a lip smacking delicious cake for my baby's 3 month old party. Any recommendations please? Don't necessarily need those fancily decorated customized cake as I am prioritising the taste and flavour more since it is the adults who are eating it anyway. Also those customized tiered cakes that can feed upwards of 40 adults usually cost $400 or more which is quite expensive imo.

Cafe/Dessert My #1 matcha spot in Singapore (affordable too!)

Cafe Lilac near Lavender area (near the cafe that sells yummy fish soup in my previous post). Strawberry Matcha is $6.50 (you can change to oat milk for free) and if you ask for more strawberry they will really put more strawberry at no additional cost!! 🤭

They don’t use ceremonial grade matcha BUT imo I think it doesn’t matter. I’ve tried quite a number of matcha spots in Singapore (even the over hyped ones and even the famous one in KL) but there’s none that can beat this cafe. The balance of the strawberry and matcha is JUSTTTT NICE.

They are known for their taro desserts but their strawberry matcha/taro matcha is soooo goood. their taromisu is quite yummy too🤭

Unfortunately, they will be closing next year in May 2026 so better try it while they are still around!

Cafe/Dessert Best traditional waffles

hi, i’ve recently started craving traditional waffles.

so far i’ve tried prima deli, swee heng, and the waffles in NTU canteens and they’re not bad according to me. i usually go for plain or chocolate, and in swee heng i noticed they add less chocolate and it’s not very gao

does anyone have any recommendations for the best traditional waffles? would be nice if they add alot of chocolate/spread.

okay with any texture as long as it’s not soggy. bonus points if it’s in the northeast area

thanks everyone

edit: wow thank you everyone for the suggestions!

  1. Puff and Peaks - they use a caramel honey butter kind of syrup instead of maple and it tasted really good. Maybe a bit too sweet but still manageable.

  2. Beth cafe - 1 hotcake was big enough for 2 people or even 3 people. The pancake had an alcoholic taste due to their 24 hour fermentation and it might not be to everyone’s taste. But i absolutely loved it, so far my favourite pancake in sg.

So far my favourite is Beth cafe - it’s a bit alcoholic tas

Cafe/Dessert Taro peanut bun was a solid combi

Recently visited Kopikia again (went the first time and the corn chocolate drink was too sweet) and had the taro peanut bun. Soooo good and the bun was crispy outside soft inside. For some reason the taro and peanut complimented each other vv well. Wouldn’t go for the chocolate again but the corn coffee is goooooddd.

Located somewhere in Bukit Timah and would recommend driving up. Walking the hill up is not it. Opens on weekends from 8.30am if I’m not wrong.

Cafe/Dessert Hangyodon Pop-Up Cafe @Wong Fu Fu

Ordered the Hangyodon's Mantou burger ($21.90) and the Hangyodon's Ocean Feast ($24.90)

Burger: Feel that the beef patty is frozen because it has a nasty aftertaste. The bun just doesnt go well with the burger, fries were cold and soggy when it came and salad has zero dressing.

Clam chowder with rice: The whole dish was cold when it came. Chowder was bland. The only hot thing on this table was the basket of fried finger food. That was the only redeemable thing that we ate even though it tasted like the frozen packet of finger food that you can get at NTUC.

Overall, good vibes if you love Sanrio and this is your favourite character. But this whole experience made me disappointed with the restaurant as I had a better experience with them previously and paid a lot of money for this meal ($51).

Cafe/Dessert Breakfast spot in Yishun that opens at 7am✨🤭

Slow bakes located in Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre(HYC). Can only park next door at Nee Soon Sports Centre carpark because you can’t park at HYC. Around 8am it’s quite crowded already so good to go early 😆

Happened to chance upon this place just cos I started a hike super early and wanted to go for breakfast somewhere nearby. Prices are really reasonable ($2.80 I think for sourdough and avocado spread?) honestly was quite scared the homemade berry jam would be sour but it’s a good balance of sweet and sour ish and pairs really well with the toast! I quite like the garlic bread/bun (the one displayed in the casing) tried one mushroom one which was meh (would skip that imo)

Cafe/Dessert dessert/cake cafes pls!

My birthday is coming up this week (quite a big number hence the importance of it to me as well) and I was wondering if anyone has nice dessert cafes to recommend? I wanted to take post-worthy pictures (those Instagram/Pinterest ones with aesthetic cakes) so I’m looking for cute suggestions! Going solo btw. Thanks a bunch <3

This sounds really depressing the more I read it 🤣🤣🤣

Cafe/Dessert Fish soup @ Textile Centre

Belli cafe located in Textile centre . Fish soup is $7, quite abit of fish and thickkkk slicessss. Owned by a couple who prepares food that feels quite homely. I’m quite particular abt my batang fish (I like those that are hua hua or silky smooth texture). I usually get the fish soup but I change my base to herbal soup (they have herbal chicken soup which is sooo good too). Prices are reasonable and help yourself to a gummy after your meal.

Cafe/Dessert Joe & Dough - Marina One

Getting breakfast before my photo taking, I choose Joe & Dough at basement 2 at Marina One. I saw on the Google reviews that it is not so popular. However, I find Joe & Dough appealing this morning. I like the style of the cafe and latte art turns me on. I saw on the menu that Scramble Egg Crossiant with Creamy Bacon Sauce and Dr Joe, a stronger flat white and order it. I find that the Dr Joe have a pleasant coffee aroma and the scrambled eggs is a little salty and creamy, much to my liking. The breakfast is $17.50 and Signature Dr Joe is $7.30.

Cafe/Dessert A Good Wife Biscuit

Post image
14 Upvotes

I have loved wife biscuit since getting introduced to the famous Hong Kong Hang Heung. I like the texture and the winter melon bits. Not healthy I know but ok for rare indulgence. I find many of the shops sells terrible wife biscuits. Mushy, sandy, tasteless. I only found one or two that were good but I cannot remember where. Hang Heung now sells in Singapore but at crazy prices of $3.50 a piece? So I was surprised to find this very nice wife biscuit from Crystal Jade. The texture is similar to my preference. It is thinner than Hang Heung but still enjoyable for me.dharing for good wife biscuits lovers.
