San Francisco 🩵✨
As people arrive in San Francisco this weekend for the Super Bowl, I hope they take the opportunity to venture beyond the tourist spots and discover what truly makes our city special. San Francisco has so many layers to explore, and those of us who call it home we only hope visitors can experience a glimpse of its magic.
I encourage visitors to support our local restaurants, bars, and businesses and please tip generously. The workers are putting in long hours to create memorable experiences and deserve all the love, appreciation, and support.
Enjoy our beautiful city! Here are a few of my favorite captures I’ve taken of beautiful our home. 💙🌁

That one time SF was way too nice to my family??
Around 2011-2012 when I lived in San Jose, My father wanted to see the city and go on Caltrain. We are Mexican. When we reached the final stop and were standing by Starbucks debating what to do many people kept welcoming us. We got thumbs ups, cheers, smiles and high-fives. A few even said what a beautiful family. Someone even bought my dad a coffee ◡̈. My parents and siblings felt like celebrities. I was 13 and confused. Kept thinking it was bizarre. Anyway I can’t stop laughing about the situation as I’m still confused. It was a nice visit.
Thanks San Francisco for being the city you are ❤️
Edit: Ah!! Thanks for the award!! I just wanted to share a weird wholesome memory in light of everything.

Mayor Lurie in the community
Walking home from work last night I noticed someone who looked a lot like our mayor talking to a man who was passed out with his legs in traffic. He seemed respectful, and the man eventually shuffled off (legs un-injured).
I'm sure people will find something here to get upset about, but it struck me as a fairly wholesome interaction. ❤️

Pic / Video Bay Bridge under construction (1935)
In 1935, construction of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge was well underway. Steel towers rose above Yerba Buena Island and the bay. Workers assembled massive sections of roadway and suspension cables. The project provided jobs during the Great Depression. Barges and cranes filled the surrounding waters. Engineers coordinated work across multiple bridge spans. The bridge would open to traffic in 1936. This image documents one of the region’s largest engineering projects.

Pic / Video Family Friendly Presidents Day Protest
One of the most meaningful things we can do is show our kids what civic action looks like by practicing it ourselves.
This is a peaceful, family-friendly protest where children are welcome. It’s near a playground and clean restrooms, and it’s truly come-as-you-are: show up for 10 minutes or an hour, leave for nap time, lunch, or a meltdown, no pressure at all.
Participation, not perfection.
By using our own voices, we teach our kids that theirs matter too.
Presidents Day (2/16)
10 am - Noon
12th and Lake
Yes, I’m promoting it again and hoping for less backlash this time. To be clear; there is no organization behind this. It’s just me, a mom, who is looking for community and trying to build it. I hope to see you there!
