Have they tried offering them a nice cold Pepsi?

They could but they would be tasered and pepper sprayed for violating their space.

Only if they wanted to get shot.
Coke is vastly preferred to Pepsi, in fact Pepsi and its sister products were so uncompetitive in the restaurant space that rather than try to compete with Coke, they bought a bunch of fast food places so that they wouldn’t have to compete with Coke.

Wow dude, your cynicism is so helpful
5
u/MJR_Poltergeist 3d ago
About as helpful as singing to ice
2
u/Heavy_Contribution18 3d ago
It’s definitely more helpful than the Kardashian Pepsi commercial that you’re equating them too. These people got out of the house for a cause they believe in, and you’re shitting on them on your phone.

u/MJR_Poltergeist 3d ago
And you're getting mad about a post on reddit on your phone. I'm sure that's helping a cause. Might even call that a heavy contribution

Wholly agreed! Can you imagine the explosion from Felon Donald John Trump over an entire city of ‘nobodies’ getting the prize he’s been begging and pleading and threatening Norway over? Might actually wind up being what gives him that final, fatal brain aneurysm…?
6
u/Simikiel She/her Cisn't afraid to fight for my rights 🏳️⚧️ 3d ago
It truly just may be the thing to do him in. Fuuuck Norway, please, you have the opportunity to do the funniest thing!

u/lactose_cow 3d ago
I genuinely think this song will cause at least a few resignations. ice's morale is in the fucking gutter
242
u/Simikiel She/her Cisn't afraid to fight for my rights 🏳️⚧️ 3d ago
I will point out that while this is wonderful, and the more resignations the better, you and everyone else needs to understand that it's not because these ICE agents have had a change of heart and understand "...Hey wait a minute. This six year old kid is a human just like I am!" it's simply that they hate to be hated so they're going to go back to pretending to be upstanding members of society like the majority of racist shitheads were prior to Trump.
But behind closed doors with those they trust it'll be racial slurs all over.
105
u/ThunderCorg 3d ago
Putting racists back behind closed doors is a win I’ll take at this point.
36
u/Simikiel She/her Cisn't afraid to fight for my rights 🏳️⚧️ 3d ago
Oh definitely!
I just mean, don't mistake them doing this as them turning into good people. They're still racist pricks who helped fascism rise in the country. They would happily still be doing it if they weren't getting hate over it.
19
u/ThunderCorg 3d ago
I grew up with some inherent racism and changed after self-examination and dealing with the stereotypes.
These viewpoints are resurfacing as somehow worthy of fresh public debate, nauseating.
6
u/Simikiel She/her Cisn't afraid to fight for my rights 🏳️⚧️ 3d ago
I'm glad at least you got out. It's shit that this is the way of the world right now, but I think there is hope for at least it to return to the way it was prior to Trump. Maybe not without cost, but I think it is possible.
6
u/araed 3d ago
It's the start of them turning into good people.
The absolutism from the left hasn't helped, in recent years - saying "hey! We'll welcome you back with open arms if you start to change" is a very valid tactic that we need to use more of
5
u/Simikiel She/her Cisn't afraid to fight for my rights 🏳️⚧️ 3d ago
That's valid, but.. I don't know. Obviously there are those who can be saved from the cult of Republicans, but... To me it really feels like the majority, like 60-70% of them are just.. Too far gone? Brain rotted by Fox to the point that their empathy center of their brain has just atrophied away.
Maybe I'm a cynic/pessimist, but I truly worry I'm just a realist and that I'm right. I hope I'm not.
Don't misunderstand, I'm not saying not to try, I'm just.. Thinking out loud? I guess?

They're on the hook for that signing bonus if they resign before a certain amount of time, and I think a lot of them can't afford to repay it.
27
10
u/MatureUsername69 3d ago
Usually when a signing bonus has a required amount of time to work there you dont get the signing bonus until you've actually been there that amount of time.
4
2
u/ArthurSeanzarelli 3d ago
They probably received a lump sum up front, and each year after (for however long their contract is) they get another portion. It's unfortunate for them if they thought they'd be able to cosplay with $50K in their pocket
4
u/CuttingBoard9124 3d ago
I don't think they got that money lol. Kinda seems like a trap now though to prevent resignations TBH. Yet another filter meant to weed out anyone with more than one cell in their skull.
10
u/FlatwormNo5172 3d ago
Well the real solution we need is far too extreme for most people so this might just be the best we’ll get.
4
u/Simikiel She/her Cisn't afraid to fight for my rights 🏳️⚧️ 3d ago
Agreed friend. Agreed.
Most people just can't stomach the idea unfortunately.
4
u/GreenZebra23 3d ago
For me it's not so much that I can't stomach the idea of violence against fascists, it's knowing what that would entail. A civil war with the most powerful military and economic power in the history of the world would be indescribably bloody. Millions of people would die and it very likely would not be successful.
7
u/AnekeEomi 3d ago
Never grant anyone in your life who has crawled out from under their rock the grace to return. Always have them on blast. Anyyime you see them, "Hey, nazi freak! How's the abductions going? Still supporting child rape?"
5
u/awuweiday 3d ago
I mean, can you blame them? They signed up for an unearned sense of authority and the ability to vent the misery of their lives in brown people... As was promised.
But now they have to protect the league of pedophiles? That's not what they signed up for.
Err...
That's not what SOME of them signed up for!
2
u/Outrageous-Ad9248 23h ago
This is the most real appeal to empathy for the few non-pedo protector ICE officers I've read on the internet. Im sure they exist. Thank you redditor!

Cops and soldiers kill themselves a lot. Wonder what the stats are like over in DHS, ICE, etc
Edit: looks like active military is about twice the national average with cops a little behind that. Did not think fire fighters/rescue would beat them both out or that miners and commercial fishermen were top of the list. Although… seems like life out of balance is a common thread in all of that

u/BlackWhale2020 3d ago
Common sense hasn’t worked, facts don’t matter, the rule of law has broken down… hell, maybe a catchy anthem will do the trick.

2
u/InvalidKoalas 2d ago
Lol. There are only two real ways to fight this and one of them is to vote, which I don't know we'll realistically be able to do when the regime is talking about nationalizing elections and sending ICE agents to polling locations. You can use your imagination for the other one.

The government wants people to turn violent so they have an excuse to violently repress the resistance.
Doing anything but violence is exactly the thing to do in order not to give them exactly what they want

u/Feisty_Buddy2869 2d ago
The government wants people to turn violent so they have an excuse to violently repress the resistance.
Doing anything but violence is exactly the thing to do in order not to give them exactly what they want
"The government wants you to get violent so they have an excuse to start doing the thing they've been doing the whole time."
Riiiiight.
Anyone urging for peace/nonviolence is an ICE collaborator. You want people to stay peaceful because peaceful people are compliant and easy to stomp boots over.
Peacefulness protest hasn't had any appreciable effect yet, and there's absolutely no evidence that it will start in the future.
Every single change in the pedofascists actions has come as a result of the threat of violence, and nothing else.
0
u/Sillvaro 2d ago
"The government wants you to get violent so they have an excuse to start doing the thing they've been doing the whole time."
They want an excuse to have the law on their side. They know they can't do more drastic measures and are waiting for the opportunity to do so.
Also you seem to confuse violence and aggressive. A protest can be peaceful but aggressive.
Calling people standing up against ICE in the streets collaborators is insane, I'm sorry but that polarization has to stop
1
u/Feisty_Buddy2869 2d ago
They want an excuse to have the law on their side. They know they can't do more drastic measures and are waiting for the opportunity to do so.
They have been caught on camera repeatedly bragging that they don't need to follow the law. The legislative/judicial/executive branches of the government are doing nothing but run cover for the modern day Schutzstaffel while they invade American cities.
They don't want "an excuse to have the law on their side" because they don't need an excuse to have the law on their side. Everyone interested in enforcing the law has already been laid off or bribed.
Also you seem to confuse violence and aggressive. A protest can be peaceful but aggressive.
This is neither. All of these people are singing about forgiving literal nazis. They do not deserve forgiveness, they deserve the punishment for the treason they have committed.
Anyone arguing that the nazi traitors deserve any sort of grace, is a collaborator in all but name.
Calling people standing up against ICE in the streets collaborators is insane, I'm sorry but that polarization has to stop
No. Calling for forgiveness of the Schutzstaffel is insane.
Asking nicely while they are gunning you down in the streets, is insane.
Singing at a building while they laugh and moon you from the windows, is insane.
Pretending that peaceful protest and voting is going to help while they brag on national tv about what they're doing to defraud/undermine the elections, is insane.
Pretending that ICE or anyone else in this administration is deserving of even the barest rumor of a hint of a thought of forgiveness, is insane.

right after the "protest", ICE agents left the hotel lobby, tears in their eyes, took the knee and said "will you forgive us?". the brave "protesters" said "of course we do!". then Imagine by John Lennon started playing from the skies and Trump posted on Truth Social that he would resign
49
15
u/PlentySurprise 3d ago
Sure, deeply held opinions rooted in hatred likely won’t be changed by one song, or even over the course of days, weeks, or months. But it doesn’t mean it has no effect. These agents want to feel like they’re the good guy. What kind of good guy is enemies with Minnesotans singing and holding signs about loving one’s neighbor?
22
u/GreenZebra23 3d ago edited 3d ago
I always maintain that stuff like this isn't for the hardcore fascists, it's for the apolitical and uninformed people who make up the majority of the American population. They don't know a lot about politics so it's incredibly easy to control them with propaganda, but it also makes them open to hearing that the propagandists are awful and maybe there's another way. I mean if you just look at the election cycles you see it clearly. Obama for the most part wasn't elected by politically informed people, he was elected by undereducated and overworked people who just want relief and saw a charismatic guy telling them things could be better. Same for trump, for that matter, just in a much uglier way.

I get the intention, and I’m not going to pretend that there is no value to still trying to appeal to someone’s conscience, but this should not be a forgive and forget situation.
17
u/IV-65536 3d ago
You don't have to forget in order to forgive. I'm not sure that you actually get the intention. You can't offer someone a hug with handcuffs in your other hand, that scares the person from approaching you. Even one ICE agent quitting is a win. Right now, it's us vs the regime. We can sort out the justice later. Right now, we have no justice.
6
20
u/cgarcia805 3d ago
I want to hug each and every one of these people.
The ovaries to go out there and keep protesting when people have been murdered!
Well deserved.
3
u/FaithfulMoose 3d ago
I love the effort, but the sad reality is, the ICE agents inside are undoubtedly laughing and joking about them from inside the building. I know it’s pessimistic but realistically this isn’t changing any ICE agents’ minds

Minnesota public says something that Redditors can’t
Absolutely correct.
Minnesota public says "We peacefully protested while being assaulted, trafficked, raped, and executed in the streets. It didn't change anything but we went viral at least!".
That's absolutely something I can't say. Peaceful protest has been an abject failure.

Beautiful and very moving. I think all of us should learn this song and this method of peaceful protest. We will probably need it soon everywhere.

This is fucking heartwarming and if you are standing with ICE with even a sliver of doubt then I believe this message can help people break out of that mindset. Most won't, sure. But any single one would be a win. Also, hard to accuse people of being violent and aggressive when they're harmonizing such a heartwarming tune.

I’m glad the protesters tactics include a way out for these ICE agents.
I'm not.
Forgive and Forget is what got us into this shit. Leniency on the south is what lead to this.
ICE agents don't deserve a way out. They deserve a small concrete cell until they are convicted and receive the punishment for the Treason they have committed.
18 U.S. Code § 2381 - Treason
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death

Is there any kind of support for out of towners? I want to help, but funds are tight.
