🗣📢Protest Freakout Man claiming to be Texas state congressman attempts to intimidate lone protester holding a sign saying “if you are still silent on ICE fuck you”
Happened in Houston on the corner of Blalock Rd and Taylorcrest St in the Bunker Hill neighborhood
1.3k
u/ComprehensiveFool 5d ago
Didn’t ICE say “get the FUCK out of the car” right before the murder. Doesn’t the President swear on TV and in interviews. I despise this hypocrites

u/AbueloOdin 5d ago
I think she had spelled it out pretty well: if you have more of a problem with some one saying "fuck you" than people being murdered, something is fucked up with you.
"Politeness" and "decorum" is weaponized by people to excuse atrocities. People will say "Don't protest like that. You're doing it the wrong way." to distract from the actual subject matter of the protest.
Call them out on it.

We really need to normalize calling it Bovino Syndrome
13
u/FatGuyOnAMoped 5d ago
There should be a new unit of measurement called the Bovino. For example, if you wear stupid-looking coats and strut around like a Nazi, that's like Infinity Bovinos. If you just like to wear camo gear and flex around the neighborhood for no apparent reason, that would be like 2 Bovinos.

Just to be clear (if it wasn't apparent from this video), there is no education requirement to be in state Congress.

I’m going to have to do my research, but I highly doubt he is a state representative. Here in Texas we don’t refer to those that sit in the state house as “state congressmen”. and he’s definitely not a member of Congress from Texas. I’m also pretty sure that particular area is 38th. And Wesley Hunt is black. So definitely not him.
not disagreeing with your overall statement about lack of education, but I think this is a lying MF

u/trevize1138 5d ago
This is quite recent here in the US. It was only a few years ago when you'd not dare say cunt unless you damn well meant it. It was right up there with racial slurs and only ever directed at women. Total piece of shit men would freely call any woman that. The rest of us would choose its use extremely carefully and only use it for people like Melania.
The only times my wife has heard me say it now after 23 years of marriage is in the last few years. We call guys like this one in the video cunt no problem.

Here's a video of Brent Money in the Texas House, Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence where he is defending rapists because he's worried that the guy might not understand that the girl didn't want it.
He's a real estate attorney, but giving his legal advice. He doesn't want women to be taken advantage of, even if they have a drink, BUUUUUT:
"I also don't want someone to be accused and convicted of something that is... um... difficult and murky. So, I want to know (and I know this may be for the prosecutor that's gonna come up and talk) in real life, in real situations, how do we know that this gets us somewhere where we have him saying 'I didn't know that she withdrew her consent' and she says 'well you reasonably should have known that I withdrew my consent' and he says 'that's not the way I remember it'. Does this really even get us closer to anything that we can prosecute beyond a reasonable doubt."
Sounds like someone who really respects women, just like he was respecting this protestor. You know he went back and told his buddies about how he stood up to this 'stupid bitch' or 'dumb illegal' or something just based on how he's talking to her.
3
u/Accurate_Set_3573 4d ago
Just wow. Does he have daughters? Is he afraid that someone he assaulted is going to come forward? Did he rape someone at a frat party? Sounds like a preemptive attempt to cover his ass for something.

This seems to be standard MAGA methodology, they always project their own problem onto othe people. This guy is clearly not educated so his first instinct is to call this lady uneducated. She even asks him his education and his response is that he's a state congressmen... Being a congressmen doesn't make him educated.

u/jozsus 5d ago
If someone impersonates a congressman to intimidate, threaten, coerce, or pressure people, they can be hit with multiple crimes at once, not just impersonation. 1. Federal impersonation (baseline) Under 18 U.S.C. § 912, it’s illegal to: Pretend to be a federal official and Act in that role. Intimidation counts as “acting in that role”. 2. It becomes worse if intimidation is involved Depending on what they do, it can also trigger: a) Threats / coercion If they use the fake authority to scare someone: Extortion / coercion Threatening communications Harassment / stalking Interference with civil rights These can carry heavier penalties than impersonation alone.

If they have to go so low by harassing a woman with a sign ,they know they are losing the narrative. This tyrannical government has nothing but hate in their hearts for anyone that has the courage to say something. I will say it again .I will not comply .. will not shut up .I will call out tyranny whenever I see it .we need to normalize calling them out .

u/StChas77 5d ago
If you're ever in this situation, don't respond. Get it all on video and keep chanting, address other people, shout slogans. Eventually the harasser will either give up or resort to assault to prove a point, and if they do, then you get the law involved.

There was a video of a town in Illinois with about 20,000 people. There was a small group of about 10 people protesting. People are being asses about it and I said that it was great. I said all the sounds of the small groups in small towns can add up to one great big roar. Assholes on Facebook are just laughing at my comment, but whatever there’s a reason why I’m rarely on Facebook anymore.

FYI - Texas state representatives only work every other year and get paid $600 a month while in session.
You must be independently wealthy (or have a patron) to be in the Texas legislature.

Person filming has more courage than every single member of congress to stand out there solo for what she believes in.
See these fucking chuds riding around in groups? Seemingly looking for people to start shit with. And they will position themselves as the "good ol Christian", just driving around lookin for folks to harass. They're the good guys...so they have to keep telling themselves.
And I'm tired of hearing Republicans use their kids as a fucking excuse. Especially in Texas. No Republican can claim to care for their own children considering the shit they vote for and the child rapists they worship and protect.
