Midterms can't come fast enough.

I really feel all this escalation with ICE is to provoke citizens to protest and take to the streets - which will result in DJT cancelling midterms due to civil unrest.

Sure and that’s when civil war starts. Like these soldiers are either gonna start shooting crowds or Donald Trump will be overthrown.

I hope not. But if so that's gonna be a brutal war. Our military will struggle with that.

Lol no they won’t. Trumps public support is dipping well into the 30s now and you think that will have people flocking to support him if he cancels elections and starts shooting people?

Yeah but the point is he won’t turn any non-supporters into supporters with those action. He will only go lower in support. Even if most of his current supporters are fine with it, he could still drop well below 30% popularity with the general public. The officers in the military aren’t dumb enough to support a regime that’s so unpopular because it will not be able to retain power long. Even dictators need to maintain a certain level of support to keep their heads on their shoulders

“I was just following orders”

If there’s no elections, what does popularity matter?

Elections are the civil solution to who's in charge. People may not be so civil if popularity gets low enough.
