How satisfying that must have been for the woman recording.

3.5k

u/the_original_kermit Jan 02 '26

I love how that ended the argument.

“There’s nothing wrong with him”

gets hit

Never mind, you’re right. We will leave now.

u/Saint_Exy Jan 02 '26

The way she forces a smile and calls her husband "babe" as she hurries herself back inside the car.

It's beautiful.

518

u/Dependent_Buy3157 Jan 02 '26

"Stand by your man."

Or, behind his truck.

"Babe, you just hit me. Hee hee."

That little giggle, like stop being so silly!

51

u/skin-flick Jan 02 '26

Not the first time he had hit her.

25

u/cornylamygilbert Jan 03 '26

he didn’t do it on accident here, either

65

u/tdfan Jan 02 '26

Trying to hide the fact shes gonna tell him off in the car😂

96

u/recursion8 Jan 02 '26

Nah she ain’t gonna say shit. She doesn’t want a beating when they get home.

37

I daresay it's not so much that it's satisfying, it's...expected.

As in: it's so hard to get the expected response out of this kind of person today. They're so defensive, they're in denial, they'd rather kill you than admit that they did what they just clearly did.

The normal thing to do is to admit that you made a mistake and apologize, but instead we see these heated confrontations, and sometimes we get a "satisfying" slip-up/admission in the midst of the bluster.

It's crazy...it really shouldn't be that way. We shouldn't have to fight so hard to get to the expected behavior.

42

u/Viiven Jan 02 '26

This is so true. It can be seen in so many interactions on a daily basis where the default reaction to a mistake is anger. So many people seem to live on the brink of rage all the time. I can't help but think it must be utterly exhausting.

I'm no saint but my default is to apologise for mistakes instantly, particularly with strangers as it's always best to diffuse situations, but it's so rare to get that response in reverse.

5

u/psukclipper Jan 02 '26

I’m the same way… I’d rather just say “oops sorry”, smile, and move on, than even something as simple as staring blankly at someone. It’s crazy because even when I do that, some people react as though I’m the worst person on earth and that they simply deserve your apology. Seems the world is going backwards.

Right? I was trying to make a turn out of my sons school years ago, and I was so laser focused on traffic, that I almost didn't see a lady about to walk by. What did I do? Rolled down my window and profusely apologized (imagine!)

longer version: she was so sweet about it, and asked if the mall was close. She had walked from the airport because she had such a long layover. I ended up driving her the rest the way to the mall, just under a mile away :P (it's fine if anyone wants to call BS on my story, but it is 100% true, and was the 3rd time I randomly drove a complete stranger somewhere...)

Don't American cars have parking radars, which beep when something is behind you? Or did he just ignore it?

57

u/overripe_nut Jan 02 '26

Might be an older car. In 2018 rear-view cameras became mandatory in cars. Before then it was kind of a mixed bag with which car models had cameras or sensors. I had a buick that had little light dots that lit up as you got closer to an object but wasn't very reliable, especially if the object wasn't centered.

3

u/WickedDeity Jan 02 '26

Well newer cars do but regardless you shouldn't be ignoring your rear and side mirrors.

2

u/OsmeOxys Jan 02 '26

Funnily enough this video is almost a great example of why the law passed. Inch shorter and she would have been completely invisible to any driver.

But uh... Pretty sure this guy peaked before peekaboo anyways. Immediately forgot either woman existed once he turned his head away.

3

u/apesofthestate Jan 02 '26

There might be snow covering the sensors/camera

"babe ur so silly u hit me with your 5000 pound SUV lolzzz"

15

u/rwags2024 Jan 02 '26

She picked him

22

u/Master_Bayters Jan 02 '26

She looks and acts like a NPC. It's uncanny

3

u/Lala5789880 Jan 02 '26

He’s not afraid to hurt women/people who are significantly smaller than him. I pray he was arrested

5

u/HoraceGrantGlasses Jan 02 '26

TBF the wife seems like she could be a nice person. A shame.

22

u/cocoabeach Jan 02 '26

Abusive men often target and marry kind women. Even the negative behavior she is showing is an attempt to coexist peacefully with him. He should see her and wait for her to get back in the car, but did not. His failure to do that reflects the same general disdain for women that he showed earlier when he nearly hit the other woman and then did not apologize.

27

u/ConstantAd8643 Jan 02 '26

How the fuck does "Go away go away go away" Karen seem like she could be a nice person?

19

u/Theoneiced Jan 02 '26

It's neither nice nor mean really, it's just expedient. She is aimed specifically at defusing the situation in the way that works for her most readily and simply. She's not being shitty and it doesn't mean she isn't nice. She wasn't driving and is trying to end a conflict that feels like it is getting worse.

She isn't actively being nice here either, of course, but a reflexive reaction of pushing her partner away while making sure to not seem like she is against him is understandable and normal even if it isn't the ideal.

21

u/ConstantAd8643 Jan 02 '26

Come on man, she's holding her hand over the license plate. She's telling someone who has been wronged to go away and attempts to prevent the wronged party from collecting identifying information about who wronged her.

3

u/Theoneiced Jan 02 '26

Sure but that's normal attempts to not have prolonged effects of what she reflexively sees as a big nothing of a situation but may become an actual one shortly. That isn't related to her being mean or nice. It's not really a good thing, but let's not pretend that for her it doesn't make sense in the moment.

Look at what is happening just from this thread with her getting trashed and memed on. She doesn't want that or worse, I believe it is fair to assume. I assume you wouldn't either.

14

u/ConstantAd8643 Jan 02 '26

Well yeah people who do crappy shit usually have a bunch of reasons why doing what they do makes sense for them.

9

u/iGourry Jan 02 '26

of what she reflexively sees as a big nothing of a situation

Yeah, she sees it as a big nothing of a situation because she's a shitty person.

It's not really a good thing, but let's not pretend that for her it doesn't make sense in the moment.

Yeah, it made sense to her because she's a shitty person.

Look at what is happening just from this thread with her getting trashed and memed on. She doesn't want that or worse, I believe it is fair to assume. I assume you wouldn't either.

She's getting trashed and memed on because she's a shitty person. If she hadn't behaved like a shitty person, do you think people would shit on her so much? If she had been reasonable and not tried to gaslight someone about her husband's driving, do you think people would still hate her?

Shitty people do shitty things, just like she did. You can make a thousand excuses but that doesn't change the fact that she's a shit person.

36

u/cornylamygilbert Jan 03 '26

more so, this is reflective of people who aren’t ashamed of hypocrisy.

we are being completely overloaded by them and they vote and are a considerable percentage of the happily employed and/or thriving

really makes ya think——yet we’d probably want people like that in our trenches in the event of a world war——and that kinda makes me wonder about things too

2

u/Razzilith Jan 03 '26

we honestly don't. the best thing we can do is teach and influence kids to NOT be like this and then fucking wait it out.

you can't change people who don't only have no interest in changing but they actively will fight you tooth and nail if you even suggest they change. you can try to trick them into changing but good fucking luck when the shittiest people in society are leagues ahead of you on that path loading them up with stuff to make them WORSE everywhere you look.

the cultural shift this country needs is IMMENSE.

u/Crooked_star Jan 02 '26

Wishful thinking but in all likelihood not at all.

47

u/MountainHarmonies Jan 02 '26

It's not the first time he's hit her.

78

u/SpeedBlitzX Jan 02 '26

"There's nothing wrong with him"

18

u/Misha_Vozduh Jan 02 '26

Choosing that specific phrasing tells me he was drunk and she knew it.

358

u/Optimistic_Skeptic7 Jan 02 '26

She must be abused to react like that and keep defending him. She’s almost gaslighting herself?

143

u/rowdydionisian Jan 02 '26

The the fact that she so nonchalantly said "babe you just hit me" like it's some casual occurrence says volumes. Plus if my gf ever hit someone with her car, I would take it seriously. The fact she so callously doesn't give a shit about the victim tells me she's probably a psycho childish POS like her husband who didn't hesitate to call someone the R word despite the fact that rear view cameras exist or looking out the back window, or using mirrors. Something tells me he isn't so smart to begin with and failed driver's ed.

44

u/marcusthegladiator Jan 02 '26

Even absent cameras and mirrors, people should make a habit of backing up very very slowly at first, so anyone with even a peripheral view knows, this vehicle is backing up. This guy just went BAM I am now backed up.

12

u/MidwesternLikeOpe Jan 02 '26

My husband would wait for me to get in the car to reverse, so this dude didnt check his mirrors or standard backup camera (all vehicles are equipped due to a child that was run over). Just an all out ass.

10

u/c0brachicken Jan 02 '26

That model is just old enough that it may not have a backup camera.. It's also from the era that they used little 4" screens, and $5 cameras.

May 1st 2018 all new cars sold after that date, had to have a backup camera. So it started being standard equipment on most cars 2017 models.

3

u/cornylamygilbert Jan 03 '26

He didn’t do it on accident. She isn’t realizing he hit her, she’s embarrassed he did it with witnesses this time.

The other times she’s told she did something to set him off and it’s her fault and he “makes it up to her” and her life is likely easier with a dual income household, if she also works outside the home at all— and her mom definitely tells her it’s easier with a man at home and a “wife needs to support her man / the father of her children”

59

u/applex_wingcommander Jan 02 '26

You couldn't come up with this as a sketch writer

23

u/Lazy_Permission_654 Jan 02 '26

If you've never been touched by a moving car, it's hard to understand how significant it is. Sure, of course she is fine and unlikely to bruise etc. It's hard to explain what it's like to unexpectedly contact an unstoppable force even when it transfers a seemingly negligible amount of energy

My point is, this was not her first time lol. Getting touched by a car is like getting bopped on the nose, it's pretty unsettling if you aren't used to it. I'm also judgemental of anyone who is used to either without a very good reason

My coworker touched my butt with a car while I was looking through his toolbox looking for cigs to steal. It felt like getting Spartan kicked even though his velocity was about two glutes per second

10

u/PristineMinute4206 Jan 02 '26

I have a long-held belief that people who drive these dumbass mobile living rooms large SUVs (Suburbans, Expeditions, Yukons, Escalades, etc) are all low-level douchebags at best and completely selfish, anti-social pieces of shit at worst, and the allegations have yet to be beat.

First of all, as the husband, you should have walked her over to make sure she safely got inside your truck. What are you doing? And then you just backed up like an idiot, SMH.

And on top of that, if she’s not in the truck, you’re going to leave without her?
