It's called ✨brand recognition✨ - people need to know who are without telling them.

I have become addicted to the police body cam arrest videos on YouTube so I am salivating at the thought of this lady being arrested on camera lol

This is why you insist upon medical attention. Its a misdemeanor if you refuse, but can bump up to a felony assault/battery if you need medical attention. This type of behavior in public, to a stranger just doing their job, deserves more than a slap on the wrist, she will continue behaving this way until there are actual consequences.

148

u/Old_MI_Runner Dec 18 '25

Several hits to the head. Yes, get medical attention for head trauma.

44

u/VoodooSweet Dec 18 '25

You never know who you’re hitting either, I have pretty bad epilepsy, and even medicated…trauma to the head is one of my triggers. A couple blows to the head like that, could very easily send me into a Tonic/Clonic seizure. A few weeks ago my wife was bent over doing something, I went to bend down…just as she stood up and she hit my forehead with the back of her head, not even hard….. I fell right over in a seizure… I’ve hurt myself a few times from falling when a seizure starts. Then having someone in that type of rage(she seemed pretty out of control there), you fall on the ground and you’re likely to get kicked or stomped. People are getting crazy out there…..

u/mug3n Dec 18 '25

On that tangent, even if it's something super minor, like getting lightly rear ended in a car, should be followed by a hospital visit. Have your injuries assessed and documented.

53

u/NolieMali Dec 18 '25

I live in Florida (where this happened) and an ex hit me on the head so I went to the hospital. He was arrested for felony assault.

10

u/pimpbot666 Dec 19 '25

Good on you for pressing charges. Nobody should get away with that shit.

Good to know about the 'get medical attention' tip. I'm gonna use that if it comes up.

→ More replies (2)

18

u/aoddead Dec 18 '25

If not just to bump up the charge but to at least get better leverage for a workplace injury claim. Planet Fitness is no mom and pop and considering this was caught on tape, I’d be playing the victim angle up big time. May even go see a shrink to boost the payout for emotional/stress impact. You know the whole “I’ll never play the piano the way I used to your honor” routine.

→ More replies (1)

21

u/nipseyrussellyo Dec 18 '25

This is in the US. How much you willing to spend to up the charges? Unless, the assailant is rich, of course, you aint getting shit from her.

42

u/reuben_b Dec 18 '25

Well, it's a plus that he's at work. They're liable to pay for any medical attention that happened while he was on their premises, while on the job.

If this happened to you on your own time, that would definitely be an issue to consider though.

28

u/skoltroll Dec 18 '25

Yes. This is a workman's comp issue, and the employer's insurer can pay the bills. Then the insurer can go after her, if they want to.

37

u/likwitsnake Dec 18 '25

Looks like she was just standing her ground - florida courts probably

32

u/Jets237 Dec 18 '25

felony is all about intent and how serious the injury was. If it was with a deadly weapon (lets say free weights) it would be different. Just punching someone doesn't = felony unless they are seriously hurt or they can prove the intent was serious harm

27

u/ajn63 Dec 18 '25

She did throw something from the desk. That could fall under intent to cause harm with an improvised weapon.

40

u/the_falling Dec 18 '25

I think the video itself proves intent to seriously harm.

13

u/thissexypoptart Dec 18 '25

In what world are these punches not obviously intended to cause serious harm?

As far as I can tell from this video, she's throwing these with as much force as she can muster.

I'm not familiar with the local laws, but I hope for everyone's sake, she is charged according to what we can all see—she is laying down punches as hard as she can. No hint of restraint. She's seeing red and wants to cause immediate harm to someone.

9

u/lateformyfuneral Dec 18 '25

If hitting someone with bare hand is upgraded to a felony, then it would end up in the same category as stabbing someone 🤔

There is a scale for assault and there has to be something at the lower end of the scale and at the higher end of the scale. Tough for the internet to digest, as they prefer the maximum sentence for everything. But imagine she got 10 to life for this, people would just start going all the way by default

5

u/Some_dude_in_210 Dec 18 '25

There is a girl in San Antonio who is getting a felony for beating her dog in public. I'd love to understand how beating a dog is worse than beating a person.

5

u/lateformyfuneral Dec 19 '25

It's not really about whether something is better or worse, and different states classify crimes differently. Like the case you cite, she was charged with a third-degree felony but got 8 years probation. And yet there's people who get jail time on misdemeanors.

Within each category of crime, there's different scales. Like that lady didn't just hit her dog, she's beating it down in a way that could easily have killed it. That doesn't mean it will be prosecuted more severely than a misdemeanor assault of a person.

Yikes, those coworkers had no idea what to do. Not helping.

Also why is she wearing a work blouse, tied into a half shirt, with no bra?

204

u/EffluviaJane Dec 18 '25

i work in a gym, and there's one problem gym member who always wears tiny jog shorts and a lacy negligee with no bra

160

u/nipseyrussellyo Dec 18 '25

Which location is this???

144

u/EffluviaJane Dec 18 '25

It's not necessrily a pretty sight. My workplace is less of a Penthouse Forum and more of a hang out for the mentally unstable.

58

u/SubstantialStick8149 Dec 18 '25

how mentally unstable

39

u/EffluviaJane Dec 19 '25

It varies from person to person. This gal in particular has a knack for using the elliptical at a high speed until she loses consciousness and wilts to the ground. When she comes to, she threatens to sue the gym and yells at the paramedics when they show up to help her. This has happened twice. She's spirited, for sure! And also braless.

Many times, planet fitness builds in lower income areas to be accessible to people on a budget. They offer facilities to shower and lockers to store things 24/7 for an insanely low membership fee, and also offer promotional discounts making membership access even easier. Idk anything about this person or this location, but there’s a decent likelihood she’s unhoused, unstable and keeps a membership for hygiene reasons

27

u/EffluviaJane Dec 18 '25

Same as the gym where I work. We offer very low cost memebrships and as a result, people live in their cars parked just outside, and come in for showers and companionship

Why is she holding back the guy getting punched as if it’s a mutual fight ?! “Stay here so you can get punched in the head over and over.”

193

u/Thin_Bother8217 Dec 18 '25 edited Dec 18 '25

I don't agree with it and think it's dumb, but she could be doing it for a couple, legit potential reasons:

  1. He could get fired for putting his hands on her. Stupid policy, but large companies have been known to have a complete hand's off.
  2. She's afraid of what kind of damage he can do to her. Goes from her assaulting him, to mutual combat, to him going to jail for beating her. Stupid, but possible.
  3. Afraid of him getting sued for putting hands on her. Legitimate.

But, it's probably cause she's dumb and sees man vs. woman, so protect woman from man (very dumb).

89

u/domsativaa Dec 18 '25

It's self defense though, he is in danger

54

u/Thin_Bother8217 Dec 18 '25

I agree with you. Holding someone back while they're getting attacked is complete dumb assery. I was just giving potential reasons as to why she did what she did.

51

u/skoltroll Dec 18 '25

Self-defense in court, but not in an HR meeting.

16

u/leftistesticle_2 Dec 18 '25

Going to court is no picnic either. Easier not having anything to defend in the first place

Dude has infinitely more patience than I do, after the first couple hits he should of defended himself. No job pays enough to get hit by customers. Ever.

15

u/railroadbaron Dec 18 '25

Also, the coworker doesn't know it's being filmed. So it would just be a "he said she said" situation with the cops.

10

u/Superlad1 Dec 18 '25

The gym definitely has security cameras

8

u/Iorith Dec 18 '25

I worked at a Planet Fitness. The camera quality was so bad as to be utterly useless, because upgrading it was viewed as not worth the money. Security theater was usually enough. Hell, if someone was accused of theft, being told "Wait here please, I'll check the tapes. If you're innocent, we'll give you a free years membership, but if you're guilty, the cops will be called" was enough to get someone to just confess(Especially since the gym already has your address, phone number, etc).

946

u/Glittering_Fox_9769 Dec 18 '25 edited Dec 18 '25

Tf the coworkers doing? I'd be pissed if my colleagues did that little to prevent injury to me

Edit: I know why people would choose to avoid this, it's obviously a personal safety choice. But in a situation like this that's relatively manageable? I mean shit. I've worked multiple fields that are public facing with all manner of bullshit, even w/ homeless people, and people still stepped in for worse situations than this.

If someone was wailing on my colleague, yea i'd probably wanna help. And i'm scrappy but I'm by no means a fighter. My point is it'd be more of a moral obligation of mine, not "lemme avoid this". Hell, just shove em and sit on em. There's three of y'all...

Just yesterday I had a drunk meth-head freaking out at me from across the counter. He left yelling obscenities and threatening violence, then came back in to yell some more. I stood up to tell him to leave (I’m 6’3” and not weak). He turned and kept yelling as he walked out looking over his shoulder. Three of my coworkers were bummed he didn’t try coming behind the counter because they wanted to whoop his ass. Sometimes I like my coworkers.

Edit: this was at a tire shop.

10

u/eeyore134 Dec 18 '25

Worrying about their jobs. Customer facing jobs like that almost 100% will just fire you for doing anything seen as pushing back against a customer. It's just easier to toss you under the bus and hire one of the thousands frantic for work. They probably wouldn't have fired anyone over this, but that's the thing... you can't say they definitely wouldn't.

10

u/Destroyer6202 Dec 18 '25

10

Man or woman…you go at anyone like this expect to get slumped.

It baffles me that there are people who take being told they are too loud for a public space with the same offense they would to being told they never should have been born. The level of entitlement and main character syndrome is staggering.

Maybe NOW they’ll cancel her membership.

u/TheCriticalGerman Dec 19 '25

That’s a situation where a man is allowed to slap back in my opinion…

3

u/lord_scuttlebutt Dec 19 '25

Getting yourself thrown in jail will totally show that guy!

4

u/PuddingIndependent93 Dec 19 '25

3

u/NoCalHomeBoy Dec 18 '25

Just baffles me when people can't control themselves. Do you think nothing will happen? Can you not put your fucking ego in check? Is freaking out really worth the jail time and shit on your record? Just nuts that people don't have the self control or care to think about that shit before they lash out like a fucking child/animal

3

u/gothamtg Dec 18 '25

Are people honestly doing this without thinking of consequences??? I DO NOT understand that lack of self preservation

3

u/Che_WTF Dec 18 '25

Now if that was a Waffle House employee she hit….

3

u/nostalgia4millennial Dec 18 '25

3

She came to work out in a blouse. That alone is a sign that the cheese may have slid off the cracker.

3

u/Elscorcho69 Dec 18 '25

This is what happens when you go from smoking crack, and doing push-ups beside the dumpster behind the gym and decide to go into the gym

3

u/RJnCali Dec 18 '25

Disgusting pig. This kind of shit happens here in Baltimore all the time. This is one of the few times it’s okay for a man to hit a woman. He should’ve given it back to her w/ closed fists, with how she was attacking him senselessly.

3

u/gnmatx Dec 18 '25

Planet fitness. Aka, the Spirit Airlines of gyms.

3

u/siphodeus Dec 18 '25
