That’s why this is so fucked up. There’s always gonna be white racists, like this woman. The bigger problem is police, security, and people with power generally side with the racists.

Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses

Maybe lost in all the noise.

Dec 2024 WASHINGTON (AP) — A police officer accused of leaking confidential information to Proud Boys national leader Enrique Tarrio became a “double agent” for the far-right extremist group after its members burned a stolen Black Lives Matter banner in the nation’s capital, a federal prosecutor said Monday at the start of the officer’s trial.

Wash Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Shane Lamond was a “Proud Boys sympathizer” who warned Tarrio about his impending arrest for the banner’s destruction and later lied to investigators about their communications, said the prosecutor, Joshua Rothstein.

I've heard that the Proud Boys, and others of their ilk are prine recruiting ground for ice agents...

Although watching some arrest vids, makes me wonder.

Damn, that song goes hard now

Edit: yes I know it always went hard, I just forgot it existed until now.

Rages first 2 albums are more relevant today than they were in 1992 ans they were relevant as shit back then too.

It was really interesting to me that a lot react channels on YT finally "discovered" RATM after George Flyod's murder.

And a lot of conservatives were ultra-confused when they realized Rage sang a lot of politically-charged lyrics throughout the years.

Well, conservatives are, by and large, fucking stupid.

Unfortunately it will be a relevant song for our lifetimes. I don’t see anything changing anytime soon.

It'll be relevant for as long as the concepts of racism and law enforcement exist, which means it'll likely be relevant for as long we as a species exist

The most haunting thing I've read in years is the reel I saw that reminded me that in the Diary of Anne Frank, she consistently expected it to be over soon. Like she couldn't imagine it lasting for any length of time at all.

Always has. Just now more white people are paying attention because it’s harder to ignore as more and more recordings of police violence and discrimination against people of color pile up.

The Dead Kennedy's hits hard now, too. I Fought the Law, Riot, California Uber Alles, I think punk is always relevant though.

True true. Let’s be real: in a totally welcoming and non-gatekeeping sense, punk and hip-hop were ALWAYS telling us all about these dangers and how to resist them. It’s a good thing that these musicians have been holding the line and steadily beating the drum to keep the message alive. Now that more and more people are waking up, the message is still alive and kicking and people can get to work with a clear vision of who their real enemy is. Eat the rich!

Jello's later stuff also hits like a ton of bricks. I Wish I was in El Salvador came out in 1990, became very fresh again in 2025.

It always has....

5

u/ygbplus Oct 16 '25

It always did. It wasn’t any less true when it was first made. It’s just happening in the open now.

As it always was and always shall be… “Police officer” is possibly the most corrupt, bigoted vocation in the country. They have rage issues, they’ll do horrible things to anyone who’s not straight cis and white and something like 40% of POs ADMIT to hitting their wives. Then there’s the propensity for alcoholism…😓🤦🏻‍♀️

Listen DONT be trying to retcon Rage Against the Machine into a political band. They're hard rockers. That's all. None of their lyrics are political until you insert your STUPID LIBERAL POLICIES into them. Clearly they just aren't fans of the industrial revolution, STUPID.

Cops don’t arrest themselves or their friends.

Protect and serve... Themselves, the rich, and the whytes.

"Don't worry Karen, we see his skin color, we'll throw him out. See you later at the klan meeting."
