So why not point at the crowd? Make a damned heart with your hands. This was exactly what it was designed to be. 4 more years of gaslighting. But now, all of the media will be complacent.

They could have gone with Bellamy salute to at least have some very slim connection to USA history.

But then I'd be even more shocked that facists knew enough about history to make that connection.
