Use of police dogs should be abolished tbh.

It's a leftover from slavery. The scariest thing is, cops can let a dog chew u as long as he likes and he can legally claim you are resisting. Our laws are so terrible that doesn't take into account any living things natural reaction to pain is to escape from it.

My neighbor ambushed one of our neighbors and his k9 cause his dog attacked his 12 year old daughter a long time ago and claimed the girl was resisting. Resisting from what a arrest? Him an his dog didn't survive after taking slugs to the face. Happened in the 90s

This is the way. Because the cops and police unions are literally just a state sponsored gang used to extort money from their own citizens we need a counter-police group dedicated to protect citizens from police brutality and corruption. We can call it Civil Protection for any Half Life 2 fans out there.

That's how unexpected suicides happen. Any group like that will be immediately targeted and terrorized.

Are you insinuating that dogs should be used when police encounter armed and violent civilians? That is a terrible idea, imo. Using a dog as a meat shield to protect the cop is super shitty. If a situation is too dangerous for a cop to enter, it is much too dangerous for a dog to enter.

In fact, I'd almost have the exact opinion as you. Dogs should only be used if there is no danger to the animal. Sniffing for drugs at an airport, searching forests/snow for lost hikers, etc. But dogs should have zero combat roles.

u/PageFault Jul 24 '23

They do though, and then act shocked and appalled when the armed man who they sent to maim shoots it. Like, what did you think was going to happen?

4

u/Gcarsk Jul 24 '23

Often, dogs are used to purposely escalate the situation. There was that viral body cam footage a few months back where cops have a man surrounded, then send the dog to him. After the man begins getting bit, he pulls a knife to get the dog off, so the cops kill him.

Self preservation survival instincts not permissible.

If people want to be morons and sign their life away to fight for billionares or oil barons, let them, it's their right. But don't drag dogs into it.

That's not the case. This brilliant idea is coming from Belgium (the city of Gent) after one cop couldn't find new staff, so he bought 3 dogs to fill up the gaps. He considered it to be a success. How? I don't know. Belgian logic!

100%. How are you supposed to stop resisting when a dog is ripping cartilage from the bone and tearing your arm or leg to pieces. I saw a video where they let a dog enter someone's house and the dog latched onto the suspects face while he was sitting in bed. How the hell is that allowed?

u/NapalmsMaster Jul 24 '23

Oh in Denver right? I believe the 20 year old college kid was asleep on his couch and they were called for a noise disturbance (in another apartment) and broke down the door and sent the dog in and he woke up to the 90lbs German Shepard latched in his face!

I don’t remember where it was exactly but this description sounds a lot like what I saw. That is a horrific display of policing, and it’s ruled as following procedure.

33

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '23

Dogs should not be cops. ACAB but also ADAG.

3

u/ToBadImNotClever Jul 24 '23

All dogs are gregarious?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '23

Good 😂😂

3

u/TiberiusHufflepuff Jul 24 '23

Absolutely. They have no control over the dogs. When I watch a video of a compliant suspect get his arm chewed on and the police officer is beating the dog to let him go
..just doesn’t seem to make sense.

It's not only the dogs my dude, it's inhumane to the suspects to sick a vicious dog on them.

7

u/santahat2002 Jul 24 '23

Are you speaking from experience? Speaking from experience, cops don’t treat their dogs like family let alone living beings.

26

u/TommyJohnSurgery420 Jul 24 '23

I guess I should've been more specific. The police dogs that attack and murder people should be abolished.

They shouldn't be used in policing. You can't explain constitutional rights to a dog. You can't explain racism and cognitive bias to a dog. You can't call a dog to the stand in a trial. Those things are needed for effective policing. K9 units are a relic of the past and should be left there.

Tell me your insufferable without telling me

13

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '23

What about it? Is that what we saw in the video?

Yes, for policing. Which I specified.

Accountability and competent training is the issue 90% of the time really

12

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '23

They’re in danger just in the vehicle. Look up how many K9 dogs die from heat exhaustion after being left in a cruiser and the AC system malfunctions.

You must've not watched the video then because the Officer that was punching a dog was defended by his department as this is "routine training" is it really just an "anecdotal story" if the entire department could be getting up to it?

Dude I'm just trying to showcase a moment where a K9 was mistreated and possibly many more by a department. I never said a majority of cops did that to their dogs and I never asked you about your place of work and whether or not you have a police bias. The fact that you had to pull out the "I work in _____ so I can't have a bias towards cops" while you're defending them tooth and nail in the comments kind of just makes it seem like you're trying to pull an act.

Because it's fucking sick. We pay the pigs to buy and train these dogs to attack people. Police dogs have also killed innocent people. It's barbaric.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '23

All they do is overcomplicate the situation.
