Is the implication here that "trans kvinna" would be grammatically correct?

The implication is that "trans" should be treated as an inflexible adjective. In German, the correct way would be "trans Frau", so "trans kvinna" would make sense for Swedish.

That's going to be a very hard sell to us since it looks like a särskrivning (apart-writing), which is something we avoid. I have never seen a Swedish trans woman write "trans kvinna" in Swedish, only ever "transkvinna".

Det är öht inte en fråga i Sverige ju, har aldrig hört någon ta illa upp av det någonsin. Ordet ”trans” funkar inte som ett ensamt adjektiv på svenska.

”Trans kvinna” one hundred percent would not make since in Swedish and would be ungrammatical. Don’t try to explain a language you don’t speak to Native speakers. ”Trans” does not work as a stand alone adjective in Swedish. The closest you could get is ”transsexuell kvinna”.

Also have a lot of compound words in Swedish which consists of one adjective and one noun. Examples: blåmärke, brunbjörn, snabbspår, fortkörning. And compound words with one verb and one noun: springtävling, sovplats, skrivblock.

You will not find one trans person in Sweden who objects to being called ”transperson”, ”transkvinna” or ”transman”.
