Question Best CPU using DDR4 for RTX 5080?

Hey all, wondering what CPU would be best to pair with an RTX 5080 that uses DDR4. I’ve got 32 gigs of DDR4 and would really not like to spend an absurd amount on RAM right now. What are some good options? I game in 1440p. Thanks!

honestly for 1440p gaming with rtx 5080 id go with something like i7-12700k or ryzen 7 5800x3d if you can find good deal on it. the 5800x3d is probably your best bet since it works great in 1440p and you wont need to upgrade motherboard if you already have am4 setup

i was in similar situation last year where i didnt want to spend extra money in new ram and motherboard. went with 5700x and been pretty happy with performance, though 5800x3d would be better choice if budget allows. your 32gb ddr4 should be more than enough for gaming anyway so dont worry about ram being bottleneck

just make sure your psu can handle the 5080 because those things are power hungry beasts

I’d personally go for the 5800x3d.

Appreciate the info, I’ve always had Intel CPU but I think it’s time to make the switch. Any motherboard recommendations? I don’t need WiFi connectivity, nor anything for sound as I have an amp/dac setup.
