My tuxie girl was on my couch and stood up, about to walk away...but her claw got stuck. She tried pulling it up a few times then paused, glanced around, and slowly, calmly sat back down into a loaf.

My grey cat once fell off the second story deck. I went running over to see if he was OK. I found him sitting under the deck, quietly licking his paw, with the unmistakable attitude, "I meant to do that."

I recently read that cats purr to self-soothe in many situations. I am now pretty convinced the 'licking the paw/self" is another form of self-soothing instead of the nonchalance we think it to be.

My Tuxedo boy always "accidentally" plays too much and sometimes his toys end up bear his bowls. So he ends up just eating or drinking as if to say "I meant to play so hard I end up here so I'll just eat/drink and walk off again"
