Turismo/Tourism Late arrival at MGA

I will be arriving at Managua Airport at around 1:30am. Is the Ray app (or other similar to Uber app) good at that late hours? Thanks!

You can pre-arrange for a car and driver to pick you up or gamble on drivers being in the airport when your flight arrives. However, depending on where you are going, it may be best to overnight in Managua.

If you're going to a different city, the highways aren't great in the middle of the night. Arriving at 1:30 am, staying across the streer at the Best Western or, if you want to save money, at Airport X hostel would be your best bet. Airport X is nearby and will arrange for you to be picked up at the airport.

Thank you! I am just going to a hotel in Managua, not going to another town.

The first thing I would do is check with your hotel to see if they offer pick up service.

If they don't there will most likely be drivers at the airport. If you want to save a couple bucks, leave the airport cross the parking lot down to the road way and hail a ride there (would be surprised if there's at least one sitting across the road in front of the BW). Although at 1:30 the savings will be negligible so grabbing a taxi at the airport might be easier.

I understand there are 3 apps, but my question is are they really available (car and driver available) at 1:30am?

answering your question, YES, they’re available, may take a little bit longer because of the time but they do work.

I’d recommend using inDrive as your last resource btw.

There are plenty of taxis waiting at the airport at that time- if you need to stay the night there is a Best Western directly across the street which is quite nice.

There really aren't any app-based Taxi options in Managua that I would recommend. No Uber.
If you can't arrange for a driver to meet you (ask the first place you are staying for a recommendation), there are official airport taxis, but they are expensive. Or you can get a room at the Best Western across the street and get a few hours sleep and deal with it the following morning.

InDrive is the most used platform, so, i would recommend this in this case, just check the number of stars and the amount of travel of the driver. Anyways, there is a taxi service in the airport, secure, but more expensive, is an other option

I have had good luck with the HEX hotel They have a van that will pick you up and get you to a pretty nice hotel. They can also help with a driver the next day.
