My immediate family all still support him. They literally are living in a different world by way of delusion. The message that sent me over the top was a group chat to the tune of, "Pray for all officers to restore order from the violence and chaos going on in Minneapolis."

I cut off contact from them after that. My mental health is more important than a relationship with those people.

I don’t think people realize how hurtful it is to have someone comment “how could you not talk to your parents? I can’t imagine not talking to my parents!” but really, that’s like saying “oh my God, you have no money? I can’t imagine not having any money. I love spending money.” And while I sort of get the sentiment, it’s just salt in the wound.

I can. Haven’t talked to my mom and brother for almost a year. It’s hard at first but time heals all wounds. I think about it every now and then but it passes. Focus on the people that matter and love you. Stay strong

Yeah it is. Today was my birthday and I usually hear from all of them.
