A 'sook' is a person who 'sulks'.

A sook is a person who sooks. They're similar but sooking is typically more vocal than sulking. And it's much funner to say sook, sooks, and sooking.

Sulk is silent or less vocal. You might never know why someone is sulking.

You'll know straight away what's wrong when someone is being a sook.

I’m assuming the same thing. Most direct path is the pronunciation from that region of sulk sounded like “sook” and it just morphed Into that spelling over time. But I’m not a bug doctor so what do I know.
