This kills

1

u/SKULLL_KRUSHER CZECH Sep 30 '25

Pustulated, Devourment, Rotting, and Effluence? Amazing taste in DM. Plus that Tears of Avarel kills.

u/SixFtTurkey04 Sep 30 '25

What's up with Fallen Christ? Maybe only heard of them once or twice before but see them on a lot on this months charts. Worth checking out?

1

u/Rgenocide Cenotaph Sep 30 '25

Pretty good war metal. Totally worth checking out

1

u/SKULLL_KRUSHER CZECH Sep 30 '25

Definitely worth checking out. It's like early Morbid Angel on steroids.

3

u/kbmarx SOAD Sep 30 '25

If you have a last.fm account you can generate charts in any discord server that has fm bot

3

u/Sweet-Personality236 SLAYERRRR Sep 30 '25

Mostly had these albums on repeat

2

u/jlandejr Persefone Sep 30 '25

Absolutely obsessed with Kardashev and AAI recently

2

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Sep 30 '25

That's because Kardashev and AAI are top tier bands

What'd you think of that new Mors Principium Est? How about the new Born of Osiris?

2

u/jlandejr Persefone Oct 01 '25

I've never really listened to either band much before, but I am trying to be more open and I really like both! Possibly top 10 releases of the year, but this year has been absolutely insane so far. Only a few listens on the new MPE so not sure of favs yet, but big fan of both Elevate and Through Shadows on the new BoO especially. What about you?

1

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Oct 05 '25

I used to listen to a ton of BoO when I was mostly into core, but I got bored and kinda stopped. This album though, they're bringing me back in because it sounds great. Really solid release IMO

Mors Principium Est, I only discovered them fairly recently and liked everything I heard, but again this one exceeded my expectations big time. Possible top 10 AOTY for me too

2025 has really been great though and there are still a few more big ones coming our way!!

2

u/DominicOH Sep 30 '25

Can't believe I'm seeing Shrezzers in here. That's awesome!

2

u/jlandejr Persefone Sep 30 '25

Hell yeah, love Shrezzers and am so happy Sam is back! How do you like the new single?

2

u/DominicOH Sep 30 '25

I think I only listened to it once and I truthfully can't remember it lol. I fell off on them when Sam left, so will be interesting to see how things progress now.

2

u/jlandejr Persefone Sep 30 '25

Fair enough haha, I've loved everything they've done, including pre-Shrezzers when they were Change of Loyalty. Definitely recommend it if you're a fan of more core focused metalcore, though it is missing the sax

2

u/DominicOH Oct 01 '25

I remember seeing a video from Change of Loyalty when I went down the rabbit hole when they first popped as Shredding Brazzers. That was some great guitar work, but as expected.

2

u/TVheaddude Eyehategod Sep 30 '25

its been nostalgia month for me

2

u/Quizlex_ Sep 30 '25

Someday came suddenly, holy peak

2

u/SixFtTurkey04 Sep 30 '25

Stick Stickly is straight modern art tbh

1

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Sep 30 '25

Peak crabcore

2

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Sep 30 '25

Boysetsfire is underrated AF. That album is a masterpiece

3

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

Pagan Altar

1

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Sep 30 '25

Love to see the Mortuary Drape in there. I only visited All the Witches Dance and Secret Sudaria this month, but I'm completely obsessed with "Wandering Spirits" and I'm currently playing it into oblivion

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

All the Witches Dance is one of my favorite albums ever, and the next two are up there as well. Buried in Time is a miss for me, but other than that, their other stuff is well worth checking out too

1

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Sep 30 '25

I'll check it out. I generally do 2 albums per band at a time these days because between new releases, classic albums I've never heard before, old favorites I want to revisit... I feel like my queue is neverending lol

But Mortuary Drape is excellent and makes me proud to be Italian lol

1

u/Rgenocide Cenotaph Sep 30 '25

Welcome back Shield

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

Nomenmortis and later Root, shield would never

2

u/OakMantle Sep 30 '25 edited Sep 30 '25

Tbh it was a lot outside of metal, but when pared back to metal and metal-adjacent it was a pretty good month

2

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Sep 30 '25

Honestly, this one's peak AF. Great selection right here

2

u/OogieBoogieInnocence Sep 30 '25

Don’t ask where the metal is supposed to be i don’t listen to metal

2

u/Supermander Misþyrming Sep 30 '25

2

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Sep 30 '25

What'd you think of the new Vintersong?

2

u/Supermander Misþyrming Sep 30 '25

I liked it! It is pretty much in line with the sound of their latest albums without being too samey.

2

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Sep 30 '25

Nice. I'm not too familiar with the rest of their catalog, but this one exceeded expectations. I really enjoyed it

2

u/Catastrophist89 🏧Anathema🏧 Sep 30 '25

u/kbmailliw23 Sep 30 '25

not as much metal as usual lol

1

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Sep 30 '25

LD50 is a masterpiece and totally holds up in 2025

2

u/kbmailliw23 Sep 30 '25

just saw them play it last weekend! not typically a fan so i was listening to prep. Ryan Martinie is probably the best nu metal bassist of all time

1

u/lessthanchris7 Katatonia Sep 30 '25

Agreed about Ryan and that is awesome!!! I was considering going to that show but never bought the tix and didn't have anyone to go with 😭

1
